This
is my response to an email from a friend complaining about her life.
Nothing was right, nothing was good enough, the past was awful, and she
was pinning all her hopes on a glorious new future that would redeem
her and free her from all her limitations.
Hi [Correspondent]
Thanks for your messages. I feel a powerful desire in you to move
forward in your life, and this impetus is creating a surge of energy
and awareness that is helping you to identify and sort through some
limiting ideas about yourself. This is all good news, even though what
comes up sometimes is not very pretty. [Never mind, it’s all good!]
When you think about it, all we really have for sure is our ability
to move our attention. Never mind all the other magical powers we’re
supposed to have. We often cry about all the things in our lives we
cannot control, meanwhile not bothering even to try to control this one
thing that is always in our power. Our attention.
Yes,
you cannot change your hair color, or the weather, or the job market,
or the economy, or your past, or other people, or even yourself! None
of these things can be changed in the outside world. This present
moment is a done deal, in so many words, a fait accompli. It cannot be
changed in any way, only experienced [and transformed into the next present moment - but that’s another story.]
Where you focus your attention though, is completely in your control
at all times. Even if you are being dismembered by an angry mob, you
still have the ability to move your attention. This is the god power
inside us that so often we squander on contradictory, limiting and even
self-destructive thoughts, words and imagery.
Of course, the big secret is that by controlling our attention, we
CAN change our hair color, the weather, the job market, the economy,
our past, other people and even ourselves. But all this comes only when
we have taken responsibility for and start controlling, what we are
focusing on. Because what we focus on creates all of those other things.
How sad and even funny it is sometimes, to see someone railing
against the outside world without paying any attention to what they
focus on inwardly. This only perpetuates all the things we don’t want!
It is like the person who looks in the mirror and seeing that their
hair is messy, tries to comb the mirror! And gets more and more
irritated at not achieving anything!
What do I mean by controlling our attention? This is simple and in
actuality everybody does it all the time. Stop reading this right now
and close your eyes for a moment.
That is moving your attention. Now think about what your left hand
is doing. Now think about what you had for dinner last night. In these
examples you moved your attention because I told you to. But you are
actually the one in control. You can move your attention ANYwhere,
ANYtime, and nobody can interfere with this unique power of yours.
You might say, "So what! How does this help me in my difficult
situation?" The answer is that your reality creation mechanisms
automatically form your reality, based on - you guessed it - what you
are focusing on! Our attention turns out to be an incredibly powerful
reality creation tool. [This is rooted in our Divinity. We create universes by perceiving them.]
Think of your attention like a magic wand, or the replicator on Star
Trek. Whatever you desire, simply place your attention on it long
enough and it becomes real. The reason it takes a while for these
things to manifest is purposeful in this dimension.
We designed it this way to give ourselves more opportunities to
learn about this astonishing process, and also refine our desired
outcomes along the way towards manifesting them. [If we all got exactly what we were thinking about instantly, there would be a lot of unnecessary confusion, to say the least.]
Where you focus your attention is where you are directing your
divine creative energies to flow. And as they flow in the direction you
have decreed, they leave in their wake actual realities for us to
experience and explore.
This is our power, to autonomically create a dynamic pathway of possible and probable realities in whatever direction we choose to focus the creative beam of our attention. [see labyrinth]
- - - - -
Example - The Sore Foot
As an illustration of moving our attention, imagine you have a sore
foot, or pick some physical ailment actually bothering you right now.
Because we didn’t know any better, in the past we may have focused our attention simply on the pain in our foot and on feeling bad about the situation. [Or irritated, cowed, shamed, frightened, or any number of other feelings we don’t like.]
Because of the creative power of our attention described above, this
movement of our attention automatically produces a huge array of
pathways towards more pain in that foot. Our neo-conscious self is sent
off to busily summon up a bunch of likelihoods for manifesting exactly
what we are pointing at with our attention.
Our new way of understanding this gives a different meaning to a
pain in the foot. This is a signal from our body consciousness alerting
us to something needing our attention. [‘Attention’ seems to be the ‘lingua franca’ within consciousness, you can’t leave home without it.]
Responsively and purposefully, we move our attention to our foot and thank it for capturing our attention. Next we
engage the energy being expressed in this pain. “What is this signal
exactly? Where is the pain, what size, shape, texture?” And moving on, “What is the message behind this signal?”
Understanding that the body
consciousness speaks metaphorically, how does the image ‘sore foot’
figure in this message. Are we entertaining ‘lame’ ideas, not putting
our ‘best foot forward’, or are we perhaps about to ‘put our foot in
it’? There is literally no limit to where these ideas can lead us, and
our best strategy is usually to follow-up on wherever these
explorations lead. [Can’t hurt!]
As we engage in these absorbing inner
explorations, we cannot help but marvel at the intricacies of our
reality creation mechanisms. Our sore foot is the result of truly
spectacular autonomic reality creation processes that we direct with
our conscious mind! The foot in question is a miracle comprised of
trillions of unique individual cells, all acting seamlessly together to
create our experience of a foot. [it’s all alive and fresh, and created by us anew in every nano-second, which is what freedom is really all about.]
Add to this, from the focal
perspective, the fact that the pain in the foot is a message from our
neo-conscious telling us something meaningful - allegorically
meaningful! - in relation to the wider realms of our expressions in
this focus. This built-in feedback in our reality creation mechanisms
is extremely valuable, and proves, in execution, to be nothing short of
pure genius!
As we marvel at the glory of ourselves [no joke!],
it may occur to us to put that miraculous foot into action, just to see
such magnificence ‘on the hoof’ so to speak. In fact we might resolve
to ‘step out’ at the next opportunity, or take that fated 'first step',
or the necessary 'next step' towards some dream, or even that ‘final
step’ that releases something unneeded or unwanted. [And on the metaphors go...]
But back to our theme, where are we focusing our creative attention
in these kinds of explorations? And how does this compare to what we were focusing on before?

Imagine living our days as a being with Divinity at our core...
Just picture arising eagerly from a sound sleep and immediately
going into contemplation to review and anchor the insights from the
dream journey.
A delicious breakfast followed by a half hour in the spa-like
bathroom relishing every moment as its own fulfillment, beyond space
and time.
Then bouncing out to meet the day, confident that everything in our
universe is working perfectly on our behalf, so that everyone we meet,
everything we do, everything that happens to us is meaningful and
potent with fulfilling possibilities.
Problems and difficulties are seen for what they really are and are
met halfway as we eagerly engage their energies to discover the
treasure they are offering.
Loved ones are cherished as if we hadn't seen them in eons, and will
never see them again... And the many projects we work on / play with
during the day are an astonishing display of our fullest potentials
being stretched even further by our playful imagination.
And let's not even talk about sex!

The
description above was in responds to a discussion about recent sessions
with Kris, [Aug 24, 08 - Kris Chronicles.com] where he describes Church
history in quite disparaging terms. The discussion was about how
powerful it was to release those pernicious ideas about original sin
and needing to be redeemed.
- - - - -
Hi Gang
Yes... that was a great session... or pair of sessions on Sunday...
So wonderful to have you guys talking about how it affected you...
my own feeling is that Kris is on a roll here that he's been on
basically since he got back from Arizona...
He is offering us the opportunity to 'step up' and start putting these ideas to work in our everyday lives...
I also notice a new tone in his voice, attributable to another
aspect... And yes this voice is passionate about church history and the
limitations we have been indoctrinated into creating for ourselves...
But this voice is also passionate about who we really are, and our
potential to experience that right now in our present focal
awareness... What was that phrase... we are to relish, as he does, the nectar of our being...
So what is thrilling me in addition to not being flawed or in need
of redemption, is my whole divine self that I seem to have ready access
too... The possibilities of experiencing this in everyday life, even
modestly expressed, are breathtaking... [see above]

What Is Being Valued Here?
Kris, as he is wont to do, recently made a startling statement which upon examination, turns out to be almost self-evident.
“Every belief and behavior has positive intentions at its source”
What is startling is to think that even my most limiting beliefs and egregious behaviors are rooted in positive intentions. [Back in a moment on the self-evident part.]
First some background information. Kris has upped the ante recently and is apparently expecting us to step up and actually do something in our lives in line with this material.
Perhaps as a result of this kind of provocative behavior on our
part, our various universes, and Kris too, have responded with wider
awareness, new perspectives, and even more amazing and useful ideas.
For instance Kris said at one point recently that value fulfillment was a done deal, no options. Whether we like it or not, we will fulfill our values, no matter what we choose in each moment.
This seems to fly in the face of our freedom. Can’t we decide we’re
not going to fulfill a value? Apparently not, with a caveat tossed to
our creativity...
We have the power to pretend that we are not fulfilling a value. We can even perceive that we are not fulfilling a value, thus causing some pretty paradoxical whimsies to be mirrored in outer experience.
The juggernaut of value fulfillment, is not fazed by this in any
way. It simply incorporates any ‘negative’ choices or experiences into
a broader, richer, more thorough-going fulfillment. [how often have you heard, ‘it was hell, but I’m a better person for having gone through it’]
Kris suggests we observe ourselves and notice when we are resisting
something. What is our inner dialog? Can we identify the value behind
this thing we are resisting? What is the positive intent at it’s source?
There is no escaping our value fulfillment, just as there is no
escaping the immense self-healing processes continually rising up from
source within us and informing our reality creation mechanisms.
[This is why there is always a perfect solution hiding inside every
problem. You can’t negate something with any effectiveness without
having a pretty good fix on it first.]
- - - - -
A friend suggested this reformulation of these ideas over lunch on Thursday...
“What is being valued here?”
This is sometimes a better question to ask instead of, “What is the positive intent behind this belief?”
I have found this question to be very powerful. Often what is being
valued will jump out as almost a feeling, rather than having to think
about it.
For instance if your parents taught you the world was dangerous and
you needed to be constantly on your guard, ‘what was being valued here’
was our ability to make choices to ensure our safety, health and
well-being. Our parents attempted to teach us how to fulfill this value
for ourselves, using the best understanding they had at the time.
As we connect to the intent behind this old belief, instead of
continuing to react with chronic anxiety and protective behavior, we
can join our energies with the valuing of safety, health and well-being
and skip, if we choose, the habitual emotional influence and indicated
behaviors of this belief.
The old ways of fulfilling this value are no longer helpful in our
present lives. By aligning with the value being expressed, we can offer
ourselves new ways to fulfill this value that don’t involve continual
tension and negative expectations.
- - - - -
Today I was thinking about my teeth. They are much better than a
year ago, but they still bother me a little bit. Since my teeth were on
my mind, I asked myself, “What is being valued here, in this gum irritation?"
The answer was immediate. This experience brings into sharp focus the value of healthy teeth and gums. Moving on to the next layer, I asked myself, “What is being valued in healthy teeth and gums?”
Here my understanding started to grope a little bit, but the answer
was still almost immediate, what is being valued here is the power to eat things, which really means nourishing myself!
This was an ‘ah-ha’ moment for me and my teeth. Of course I value
nourishing myself and have given lip service to this idea a million
times, but my teeth are telling me I am resisting fulfilling this
value. I am not nourishing myself properly. My imperative now becomes
figuring out new ways to nourish myself. [thanks teeth, for being the willing messenger]
Just for fun, I asked again, “What is being valued here, in nourishing myself?"
Again the answer was immediate, so that I can grow and be strong, heal and repair myself, romp and play tirelessly, help others, and be fruitful and multiply... ;-)
- - - - -
Recognizing the positive intent behind every behavior and belief...
Instead of being influenced by the particulars of an unwanted
belief, align your energy with the values being expressed behind the
belief, meanwhile appreciating this particular manifestation of your
divine reality creation abilities. This only requires noticing and
being willing to move your attention.
As you move your focus away from unwanted automatic responses, to
recognizing and affirming the intent behind this belief, hitherto unseen
choices will appear that allow you to fulfill this value in new ways
more aligned with who you are becoming.

We’re ALL Safe!
I was thinking about how we have to really cultivate ideas for them
to grow. It is not accidental that Kris talks about cultivating an
inner garden and Elias talks about inner landscapes. Our outer gardens
(the seeds we have planted to create the blossoms we want in our lives)
need to be cultivated too!
This includes our actions of course, but also the thoughts we
entertain, the choices we make and the influences we act upon. All of
these categories of expression can be ‘cultivated’ to very good effect.
Without cultivation, a passing idea or idle thought, however
dramatic in the moment, easily slides away from our attention and fades
into forgetfulness. Particularly if we accept it with equanimity for
what it is and let it go.
It’s only when we energetically seize upon an idea that it becomes
magnetized and begins to attract related ideas, which then coalesce
into a world view that eventually becomes more or less fully
articulated. Only at this point do our earlier convictions start to
have an influence in our everyday lives.
[It’s almost as though our material creation energies don’t
respond until our expressions reach a certain level of coherence and
conviction around a particular issue. Let’s call it a reality creation
‘buffer zone’ based on our level of commitment to any one of the many,
many ideas we are always flirting with.]
This design allows us ample time to explore options and follow many
different probabilities right up to the moment when we finally decide
just exactly what kind of ice cream, or mixture of ice creams :), we’re
going to have for dessert tonight.
- - - - -
Chatting with myself a few moments ago, I was pondering the idea
that you can’t create in someone else’s reality. This is a sobering
thought for someone who is becoming an Aspect Therapist. However good
our intentions might be, we simply cannot create someone else’s reality
for them - everybody has to ‘roll their own’, so to speak.
It’s not that essences, and other even wider beings one presumes,
benevolently refrain from creating in our realities out of the virtues
they have acquired in their ‘exalted’ state. The truth is that it just
can’t be done!
Think about it. Each of us experiences reality by the use of our unique perceptive mechanisms.
Perception is interesting. The idea implies two distinct and
necessary things. The first is a unique point of awareness within
consciousness. Perception implies an “I”.
The second thing is continual input of some kind from the ‘rest’ of
consciousness, that part of the ultimate unity of consciousness that is
not pretending to be this particular point of awareness. Since it’s all
a process, one could say that perception is the natural consequence of
establishing a unique point of view which then necessitates the
movement of all of consciousness around itself.
Someone trying to create our reality for us would have to be
manipulating our perceptual mechanism in some way, since that is how we
create our reality.
The problem is that while it may be possible to influence the second
aspect of perception - the outward parade of experiences we flowing
past us - it remains impossible, by definition, to create any kind of
reasonable approximation of the first requirement for perception - that
unique point of awareness that does the perceiving.
This is more a quality of consciousness than any kind of moral
imperative. Let’s put it this way, our unique identity, the “I” of
“me”, is inviolate and unlimited in its scope.
No one else can ‘be’ us, so no one can perceive the exact and unique
way we do. Ipso facto, no one else can create within our reality
because they cannot contrive to perceive as we do without actually becoming us!
So we’re ALL safe!

The Dead Guys
The actual secret of The Secret is that most of the wonderful
information being offered in this movie comes from ‘dead guys’ but the
producers don’t ever tell you that! It’s still a secret, you see!
So let’s come out of the closet around this issue already! Who are these ‘dead guys’ and why do they matter?
Well, in the case of The Secret the dead guy was mainly
‘Abraham’, channeled by Ester Hicks, along with several other sources.
So what we’re talking about here are channel sources, non-physically
focused ‘essence personalities’ speaking through a medium or channel.
And what these guys [there are feminine ‘dead guys’ of course, let’s call them ‘dead gals’.] have to say is fascinating and life changing. I remarked to a friend once, "I don't care if these turn out to be old Johnny Carson monologues, the content speaks for itself!"
The
original idea, of course, was that these were ancestors, or other
people who had passed on, hence the ‘dead’ guys. But our understanding
has grown and this is too simple a distinction for us now. As Seth
says, “you’re as dead now as you’ll ever be!”
But some of us continue to call these sources ‘dead guys’ out of a
sense of affectionate irreverence and perhaps a little teasing of these
gentle intelligences, who are by and large earnest, and respectful to a
fault.
Of course, we all realize that this kind of communication has been
going on forever in the human race. Only its name and the meanings
ascribed to it have changed; shaman, prophet, seer, medicine woman,
inspired poet, mesmerizing singer/storyteller, blessed religious
leader, messiah, honored ancestor, and on and on...
Something changed though, at the beginning of the last century, or
perhaps ‘came to a head’ is better because there are clear antecedents
for all this material in the eighteenth century too. But certainly in
the early 1900’s, perhaps because of emerging mass media, suddenly
there were many channels speaking for many sources.
[Draft list of seminal writers - all wingnuts and crackpots from
the perspective of official reality - from this time period, such as
Earnest Holmes, Alice Baily, Catherine Pounder, Norman Vincent Peal,
the ‘think and grow rich’ guy. All these great early manuscripts on
topics that presage the New Age; will and imagination, consciousness,
psychic energy, power of the mind, triumph over conditions and
circumstances, non-physical source and essence, and on and on.]
This climaxed in the 60’s when Jane and Rob started speaking for Seth and publishing their sessions together. Seth Speaks becomes THE example of a source speaking through a channel. [Of
course Jane, bless her, would vehemently dispute all of these labels,
and demand total artistic freedom in her unique relationship with Seth,
as well as in all her other writings!]
With the publication of the Seth material, millions of people came into contact with these ideas, and the phrase “you create your own reality” entered our lexicon, along with “channel” and “energy personality essence.”
In some ways you could say this was a tipping point in our species’
consciousness reflected in our culture. We openly examined the ideas
that we were not ultimately physical beings, and we could access a
vast, non-physical part of ourselves - in essence becoming the
‘greater’ part of ourselves.
Whatever a particular source might say through a particular channel,
the very fact of what is going on in front of us speaks silent volumes
about our potential as human beings. With the prevalence of channeling
of all types, we must assume that this is an inherent, though
underutilized, capacity of every human being. [So who have you been channeling lately?]
Now that we know this, why not just channel our own source and get rid of all these middle-men and women?
[Oops! turns out that’s what we’ve been doing all along! The outside
world and what anybody else has to say, can only appear in conjunction
with our inner actions, feelings and assumptions.]
Are we communicating with god, with another being, or with some
remote aspect of ourselves? Perhaps a future self? Often the temptation
is to attribute divine powers to this voice and locate the source
outside of ourselves, even though the thrust of the 'dead guy's'
message is always to locate divinity, truth and power within ourselves.
The more I experience and understand channeling, the harder it is to
draw a line between channeling and non-channeling, and the richer and
more varied the options become for experiencing this most useful
capacity in my own everyday life.
Indeed the basic message being offered by the ‘dead guys’ might be that we are vastly
more than we have been thinking of ourselves, and that the world we’re
living in ain’t so bad either... quite the achievement in fact, and
worthy of our exploration and appreciation.

Is
there something spooky about these long, quiet days in early August? I
am in downtown Toronto, Canada and this summer of 2008 is a doozy! Or
is it only me? This is not an idle thought because, as you may be
aware, the outer world is entirely a reflection, a confirmation, of our
inner maps of the various realities we are choosing to energize and
inhabit. So the weather outside is all about what we are focusing on
inwardly.
[Our reality creation energies continuously project, as best they
can, the moving average, so to speak, of our present inner maps or
energetic representations, out into the world we experience around us.
This outward manifestation of our inner maps is one of our autonomic functions, like breathing or digesting. None of this is the concern of the
conscious mind whose job it is to express its passions and reach for
the stars.]
As I was perusing my blog somewhat aimlessly I noticed that I had not yet written two pages under the "About" menu; “Who am I [Who are You], and “The ‘Dead Guys’”. I decided the dead guys could wait and tackled the ‘Who am I’ page, with the following results...
- - - - -
Who am I - Who are you?
I have begun to understand something about writing and that is the
idea of gaining ‘traction’. After a few years of writing you start to
get some traction going, and once you’re in the groove - some may say
you’re in it from the start - but once you hit your pace, it’s all
gravy after that. So something I wrote five years ago is utterly as
relevant today as it was then. If not more so!
This is why I offer a quote from my Metaphysician’s Handbook,
a site I created several years ago, at the bottom of this post. I am
starting to mine my own previous output and this is the perspective
about writing I wanted to share. [all perceived aspects of
ourselves are legitimate and have something unique and revelatory to
offer - why would they be in our awareness otherwise?]
- - - - -
Anyway, I decided as I set out on my errands this afternoon I wanted a wine spritzer.
So I get home with the wine all right, but no soda water - bummer!
Especially since when I realized this, I had already taken off my
sweaty outdoor clothes and put on my indoor pants. I didn’t want to go
out again!
Another part of me recalled the earlier plan for white wine
spritzers on the deck. A very compelling and almost seductive point of
view, very cogently presented! So we have at least three ‘me’s’ in this
picture; the me that wants to stay home, the me that wants to go to the
corner store for some soda, and the me that is observing all of us.
It was fun to watch this little contest, partly because ‘me’ as the
observer didn’t really care which way the game went. Putting your pants
back on and going around the corner is no big deal. On the other hand,
you can always use lots of ice and a little fruit juice - you don’t
really need soda.
Each camp spun out powerful images in support of their side... [see Disney’s ‘Battle of the Sorcerers’ in “Fantasia”] Seductive visions of cold fizzy drinks on the deck were projected into sharp focus by one side.
This was simultaneously countered with tempting relief about not
having to go out again, and just sitting down right now! Along with the
easy option of using lots of ice and maybe some juice with the wine
later.
What was fascinating was to watch the negotiations going on. It was
enchanting to see how brutally honest I was with myself, and yet
simultaneously open to cooperation. The ‘stay home’ part of me offered
the recipe described above - pseudo-wine spritzers, almost sangria-type
drinks.
The other aspect immediately countered, not by opposing the
slippery slope to sangria, but by clarifying it’s heartfelt need for fizziness.
It was all about the refreshing feeling of that first fizzy sip!
There was no answer for this and the ‘put your pants on’ side won. I
have only just returned with the soda water, and am enjoying a
delicious and refreshing spritzer as we speak, indoors as it turns out
because it’s a brutally hot day out there.
Can it be true that the most vividly imagined thing wins the day?
So who won, and who lost? It was all me, even though it was very
closely argued on both sides! One side won and it really doesn’t matter
which, but what IS interesting is how it won!
The winning aspect focused on a quality of the desired experience
that it was just not willing to give up! In doing this, a powerful
image of me reveling in the desired fizziness was generated. All the
rest is just details as the universe re-arranged itself around this
thoroughly resonant intent.
So whichever aspect has the best image[ination] wins! Just like in the sorcerer movie!
If you can imagine things more adroitly than your so-called opponents, everybody wins!
What follows is the first chapter of The Metaphysician’s Handbook, circa 2003.

Self - 1
‘Who am I’ at first seems
self-evident. This is me. The guy who got out of bed this morning, the
guy who is writing this now is myself.
I am also though, the infant born 53
years ago and every ‘me’ in between then and now. A huge succession of
nows within which I was always me. The me now is the same in some
essential way as all the other me’s that have gone before.
But each me is different too. I am
not the same me that I was as a child or a teenager. In fact I am not
the same as I was when I got out of bed this morning.
We have a paradox. Every now brings a
new me and yet somehow the same me. Accepting this seeming
contradiction allows me to sense and explore the ‘spacious present’
when all of my selves collect into here and now.
This is Self. The totality of all of
my awarenesses focused in this moment of life. Self is a given. I have
done nothing to be worthy of it, and can do nothing to avoid it. Self
in the Now is not simply the grandest power in the universe, it is the only power in the universe!

Plant Consciousness Proved! - And Three Focal Timeframes
I was just pondering one of my plants sitting in the back window of
my apartment here in downtown Toronto. This little vine was
transplanted when it broke off a gift from a lover, now hanging in the
bathroom. [the plant, not the lover!]
What is remarkable about this plant is that recently I noticed it was
weaving rather unsteadily in the occasional breeze blowing through the
summer window, and I inserted a long thin stick to support it. The remarkable
part is that all the leaves that have developed since then have been
about three times the size of the preceding leaves! [see pic]
It seems to me that this indicates a pretty fair degree of
consciousness in this plant. I had no idea its leaves could be that
big. All I had ever seen were the little leaves, and the plant was at
least a year old at this point.
I
noticed that this was a limiting way to think about the age of the
plant. This plant came from the one in the bathroom, which came from
some other plant years ago, and on and on. In a way of thinking, you
could imagine one huge ivy plant stretching throughout space and time
with many discrete focal expressions that all bear the exact same
genetics as the big one and each other. Spooky!
It must be the consciousness at this vast layer of the plant, that
notices that I have stuck an old art-brush into the soil to firmly
support it just behind one of the leaves. All the tiny sensors and
chemical reactions one presumes are being used by this outer version of
the plant, are also a reflection and confirmation of consciousness
being configured and expressed inwardly by the ‘whole’ plant.
As is usually the case in a holonic universe, if we continue to
extend the identity of this plant into all the multi-dimensional
probabilities of this and all other dimensions, we eventually find
ourselves swept up into Unity Consciousness as we approach the Zenith
of All That Is.
- - - - -
I see three different timeframes for our focal attention to span, so
to speak, time-contexts within which we notice our actions. How much
‘time’ do you customarily straddle with your beliefs, frameworks and
expectations.?
[Or 'maps’ as Kris has been calling the changeable, gelatinous
worldviews we crystalize into experiences through the use of
sympathetically resonant imagery, directing our material creation
energies to 'ring forth' with what we want to manifest.]
Historic Viewpoint on Change
If our viewpoint is the long sad decades of our lives, and the lives
of our forefathers and mothers, we will mostly allow and notice change
at only that slow and lugubrious pace.
Practical Daily Viewpoint on Change
If we are looking at our days as unique and filled with opportunity,
we will allow and notice change that happens in days, or even hours.
Now Viewpoint on Change
If we have found our balance in the Now, and don’t deny our heritage
in consciousness either, we can allow and notice change in this moment,
and again in this moment... and again...

This is my e-mail response to a someone wanting clarification on just exactly what we were Triple A’ing when we Triple A’ed.
- - - - -
Hi [correspondent]
I like how your understanding has evolved on the Triple A. Very nice progression.
My understanding has gone through similar permutations as Kris
offers more and more information about who we really are and how, in
fact, we literally create ourselves and our experiences.
Out to Sea with the Triple A
Let’s look at Triple A from the perspective of the ship’s captain
that Kris talked about on a recent radio show. For the purposes of our
example, let’s say that an iceberg is coming towards us, and we have
been ignoring the crew’s more and more insistent messages about this
looming problem.
Reality Intrudes on a State of Denial
Already, even before the iceberg hits our boat, we have an
opportunity to acknowledge, not the eventual catastrophe, but the
messages from the crew before it happens, representing the various
aspects of our neo-conscious mind alerting us to the probabilities we
are entertaining for ourselves.
So the Acknowledge
part of Triple A could be said to begin even before the potential
problem manifests in our lives. And in fact, if we are noticing and
responding to the bad feelings, premonitions, intuitions, flashes of
insight, dreams, and etc., we can often neatly sidestep the actual,
full-blown problem by changing course. [So acknowledging is powerful medicine, akin to noticing but more responsive somehow]
Failing this more subtle level of acknowledging, we can certainly acknowledge the problem when the ship runs into the iceberg.
[although it’s amazing to me how I can go around for decades not even
acknowledging that a problem exists! Sort of like ‘and the band played
on’, or Nero fiddling...]
Ok, so we have acknowledged that an ‘iceberg’ has crashed into our
life, and there may be some damage. At the same time we find ourselves
acknowledging that we created all of it, and it has meaning. This
attitude of introspection invariably produces several very fruitful
lines of inquiry for us to explore.
Addressing
to the issue has many, many possibilities. Often the first thing we
need to do is assess any damages and make emergency repairs as needed
to keep our ship afloat. A captain has certain priorities and
responsibilities.
In practical terms this means looking realistically at the problem
that has appeared in our life, and responding with whatever adjustments
we believe will be helpful in the short term, to allow us to carry on
with everyday life.
Continuing to address, we can begin to explore the nature of our situation. “What exactly happened here? Why did it happen? Are there more ‘icebergs’ bearing down on us? Could this have been prevented?”
Changing our tack, we could also ask, “What is the challenge here, and what is the loving and nurturing intent behind it? What am I opposing?”
"Where can I simply relax my energy and just accept something I have been resisting?"
There is often an issue on the front burner of our lives, where all
we have to do is stop pushing and defending, and everything will
resolve effortlessly in our favor.
A Tiger by the Tail
After all this, it becomes easy to Accept
the reality and dynamics of our situation, now that we understand
ourselves and our feelings so much better. And it becomes easy to
accept our own hand in all this too. We have reverse engineered this
whole process backwards from the glorious fulfillment that is now at
hand. All we have to do is Allow it to unfold as we intend[ed].
When we Accept ourselves as open-ended, multi-dimensional, immortal
beings, we allow the possibility of the miraculous occasionally
intruding upon our lives, always with the utmost respect for our own
constructions of course, often to confirm for us the deep yearning and
knowing we feel within, about our true nature and capabilities.
Acceptance.
To directly address your question, I think you are right at the end when you suggest that it is both. We are Acknowledging, Addressing and Accepting both the problem and ourselves as creators and interpreters of the meaning of the problem.
But it is more than that. It is a lovely counterpoint of intentions
and realizations that instigates a sort of dance in consciousness,
between Ourselves as the conscious ego, and ourSelves as the
neo-conscious self.

Meanwhile, let’s keep in mind that to the degree we have created a
separation, the neo-conscious is almost certainly Triple A’ing us right
back, on whatever issues we are dealing with. It would be silly not to
assume that the Triple A in our tool box, is an outer reflection of
some awesome version of it we all use at the level of essence.
Just imagine Acknowledging, Addressing and Accepting ourselves as Essence!
