Dinner & A Dead Gal, Session 378
July 11, 2009, 4:39 PM.

Participants:
Joanne (Tyl), Paul (Caroll), Caryn (Hayo), Mike, Steve, Andreas,
Ursula, Nardine (Daisy - Heathcote Vic, Australia), Christoph (Graz,
Austria), Jim (New York City), and Rumi the cat.
We
had another excellent Rose session this past Saturday with ten people
attending in four time zones. Rose began by exploring a theme: when we
help ourselves and others, we lend energy to the shift in consciousness.
Rose
suggested that we’d see a surprise from the women of Iran taking on
those in charge to effect change in their part of the world. Rose then
spoke generally of how women have been downtrodden for a long time, as
a very neglected set of individuals, as are neglected children, the
infirm, and the poor.
Rose then opened
the floor to questions. Steve asked a stealth crystal ball question
about future probabilities cited by another channeled source about
Iran, North Korea, and the US Stock Market. Rose steered her answer
back to the opening theme, but in the context of what she calls
“ascending and descending energies”: descending currents are those that
reinforce our being in the world as we are, and ascending currents are those that seek our transformation into new stages of being as we want to be.
She
circled back to the poor, the sick, those in prison, and oppressed
women to point out that “they are us,” in a sense, and can benefit from
our help in small ways. It can be as simple as helping a neighbor with
a more energy efficient light bulb, or giving someone a ride to work.
In this way, small actions have a “butterfly effect” that ripple across
the world (and Framework 2) and impact everyone for the better.
Therefore,
when we try to healp (heal +help) others, we emphasize “descending
energies” and “suit up” to accelerate the shift in consciousness. In
other words, when we help others, we help ourSelves, and lend energy to
the unfolding of the shift.
The rest of the first half is available in this month’s podcast: Ascending & Descending Energies,
though I’d like to share one very astute comment made by Mike as he
summarized Rose’s perspective on these energies. When we over-emphasize
the ascending energies at the expense of the descending, then we fall prey to a type of “sinful self” ideology, and that’s something we want to avoid as we work through Rose’s ideas.
In other words, when we no longer deeply honor and value where we’re at in the now,
then we promote beliefs that we’re somehow flawed and need to be made
better in some future stage of development. And nothing could be
further from the truth, for we are each in the process of becoming
co-creators with All That Is.
So we don’t want to lose sight of where we are in relation to that constant “inner push” toward where we want to be.
This is why Rose emphasizes the descending energies over the ascending,
to help us take stock of the many blessings, achievements, friends,
good health, abundance, and abilities that we already have.
BREAK: 5:39 PM.
Dinner
consisted of pasta salad, pita bread, humus dip, cherries, and almonds.
Dessert was a delicious Austrian Gugelhupf (sponge-cake) made by
Andreas. There was the usual assortment of beverages, wines, beer, and
teas. Andreas also brought along some Red Bull Cola made by an Austrian
company that uses all natural ingredients. It was cooling off a bit, so
some folks sat outside on the deck for conversation and after dinner
cigarettes.
RESUME: 6:15 PM.
Christoph, who is about to journey to India in two weeks, asked a question about Elias’ focus-types (or elements of essence: emotional; thought; political; and religious). He is politically-focused and Elias mentioned that they “input and output through sensation.”
I
mentioned that Elias says that each uses one of the energy centers to
process inputs or projected energies from others, so in Christoph’s
case it would be his blue energy center (throat) that dominates. But
Rose said that we use all our energy centers all the time, and kind of
steered away from over-emphasizing any single one. She also said that
Christoph’s ability to “see into the future” – his prescience – was
based upon his blue energy center. So that was some food for thought.
[Rose
hasn’t delivered much information on these focus types. In fact, she
offered the first one to my recollection in a recent private session “On Michael Jackson’s Life and Death” Session 376, July 04, 2009, saying that Michael Jackson was emotionally-focused.]
Jim
asked a question about descending energies, and Rose launched into a
longer answer that we’ll wait for the transcript to elaborate upon. But
to mention some highlights: Rose said that the contrary self utilizes
both ascending and descending energies, the descending emphasizes being
the best selves we are, and ascending emphasizes being the best selves
we want to be.
[Put another way, they
represent the difference between the real (what is) and the ideal (what
could be). So the descending also emphasizes be-ing and the ascending
emphasizes be-ing “better” in terms of widening awareness and engaging
the remembrance of essence.]

This
part of the session also reminded me of a Bible quote from Mark 10:15:
"Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a
child will not enter it at all," in the sense that when we simply are
fully in the moment, there is a simplicity and innocence that is
divine. To which Rose commented that our child-like Aspect represents
the descending currents, and our God-like Aspect represents the
ascending currents.
The session ended
at 7:20 PM. We said our good-byes and good-nights/mornings to our
virtual guests on the phone. We then continued to snack on Andreas’
delicious cake and discuss the session until around 10:30 when our
guests left and we turned into pumpkins.

![clip_image002[4]](Helfrich_P_ICCBlog1_files/clip_image0024_thumb.jpg)
Participants:
Joanne (Tyl), Paul (Caroll), Caryn (Hayo), Joyce (Rosalie), Denise
(Andies), Frieda (Brenda), Gordon (Gilbert), Nardine (Daisy - Heathcote
Vic, Australia), and Rumi the cat.
We
had another excellent Rose session this past Saturday after a two month
hiatus in which Jo and I took a much needed vacation to Maui and
celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. Also, my mother (Frieda) was visiting us and participated.
Rose
opened the floor to questions right away, and put me on the spot to ask
my questions, as I hadn’t spoken objectively to Rose since before
vacation. I asked several questions about recent dreams and related
imagery. For example, a blue-jay recently appeared who perches on the
top branch of a tree outside of my writing studio window. For the past
three weeks this blue-jay (which just appeared for the first time this
morning as I write this!), always appears at a crucial time during my
work on the Seth book. There have been times when I’m wrestling with a
storyline, or concept, or need to find the exact quote, and when I look
up this blue-jay is sitting on that top branch, just hanging out,
looking over my house.
Bird
imagery is strongly associated with the essence of Rose, and the color
blue with Elias. So the bird’s timely appearances always remind me that
the answers I seek are right in front of me, trust and allow, and a
solution always appears. It’s uncanny, and comforting at the same time,
as though I conjure this bird from the knowhere and it helps me to
settle down and continue my focus on problem solving.
Rose
responded that this is indeed her energy being lovingly expressed and
imagery of Elias as well, and that there’s no separation within essence
which offers helpfulness all the time. Even though I intuited this, it
was helpful to get Rose’s perspective.
Frieda
asked several questions about her issues in coping with my father’s
Alzheimer’s, as he’s now in the “end stage,” and it’s been a long hard
road for us all, but especially her, as she is on the front line. They
discussed her need to “let go of things” because she holds onto her own
stress and emotions which create muscle soreness in her arms and legs.
She also needed to speak her mind to the powers-that-be in her
retirement home who could always improve their services.
There
was a long exchange and she got very emotional, as this healped her
process deep issues that need to be addressed. Rose showed great care
and compassion in helping her cope with my dad’s approaching death.
It’s been a real challenge on multiple fronts.
Joyce
chimed in and echoed some of Frieda’s issues as she has been dealing
with a sick husband and her own health and financial issues during the
recession. I marveled at how both women shared personal info and Rose
guided them.
Rose
said that pain and suffering exist to help us love ourselves more, and
that they (and body symptoms) are a communication to pay attention to
what you’re creating so that you can let go of what you can’t control,
like extra baggage that’s become too heavy to hold onto any longer.
We
broke at 5:50 PM. and feasted on a delicious dinner of shrimp
jambalaya, corn bread, garden and fruit salads, and the usual
assortment of beverages.

We resumed at 6:36 PM. and Rose began a dissertation on how to Love YourSelf into the Next Phase
(this month’s podcast). Three simple steps will allow you to address to
what issues you face as you navigate the changes in your life and deal
with the shift in consciousness. They are:
1.
“Worldify” yourSelf – express that “I am the world” and literally feal
your connection to all things in your world and your rightful place in
it (use music to explore this; Nardine posted a great link in the RoseVine to a music video on YouTube that expresses this idea perfectly).
2.
Love yourSelf into the next phase – literally love yourSelf, and begin
to take small steps toward whatever changes you need to make.
3. Adopt the belief that moving through your changes will be different, not difficult.
Denise
asked a question about how to get “out of the box” to help her deal
with a difficult work situation and her need to make some changes. Rose
provided a long answer, but in short, she mentioned her treantea practice,
which is to explore multiple probable outcomes with focused intention
to seek new choices obscured by our limiting beliefs and automatic
responses. In other words, take ten minutes, slow down, and imagine
what all of your choices are, no matter how impossible, silly, or
stupid they may seem at first. Don’t deny anything, put everything on
the table and playfully consider the outcomes.
There
was a lot more, and that will come out when the transcript is made
available (we’ve just started on the 2009 sessions so please be patient
or volunteer to help us catch up!).
Overall,
I was struck by how the group felt comfortable enough to confront
personal issues because Rose creates a very loving, safe, and nurturing
environment in which to address these kinds of things. The tone of the
session was very therapeutic, and released pent up fears and
uncertainty.
We ended to 7:23 PM. and bid Nardine a wonderful Sunday morning Down Under in Heathcote Vic.
Denise
also brought a gift – she made a 20 minute DVD on her Mac of our recent
Maui adventure set to some of our favorite Hawaiian songs. It was
beautiful, and the group enjoyed the guided tour. Jo and I had a
wonderful time and revisited the places we stayed in 2007 when Rose had
been in our lives for only a month (see Shock’n’Awe).

Finally,
Jo did several short privates afterward on our Sun Porch, where she
speaks to participants for 15-30 minutes. So that’s another interesting
benefit of coming to a group session in person. Jo’s happy to do them.
We ended around 10:15 PM., said, “Goodnight” to our guests, cleaned up, and turned into pumpkins.
Dinner & A Dead Gal, Session 350
April 11, 2009, 4:37 PM.

Participants:
Joanne (Tyl), Paul (Caroll), Caryn, Joyce (Rosalie), Denise (Andies),
Gordon (Gilbert), Nardine (Daisy - Heathcote Vic, Australia), and Rumi
the cat.
Rose
was in her usual, humorous, testy form last Saturday evening. She
opened with a short dissertation on the nature of celebrations in light
of Passover and Easter. While she focused on the divine feminine or
goddess energies, she did so in a way that didn’t diminish masculine
energies, but sought integration and balance.
There
were a lot of excellent questions and comments, as Rose opened the
floor to the group after about five minutes. Rather than elaborate, you
can listen to this week’s Podcast called “New Ways to Celebrate”
for details. It’s our longest to date (over 77 minutes), and centers on
the celebration and divine feminine themes. The basic idea is to help
all of us, men and women, to thrive in new ways, and to follow our way
of spirit. At times we need to go it alone, and at times we need to do
it together.
The
Podcast is also a good example of what a full Rose session is like, as
it includes the opening, break, and farewell portions. So if you
haven’t participated in a Rose group session to date, or if you know
someone who’s thinking of participating, this is a good one to listen
to.
Another
feature of this week’s group was the three distinct generations
present. Joyce is working on The Grandmother’s Project with the United
Nations in several countries, and brought her crone perspective. She’s
a member of “The Greatest Generation.” Caryn is the youngest, a
“Gen-Yer” who is wise beyond her years.
The
rest of us are “Baby Boomers” who could easily be Caryn’s parents, and
Joyce’s kids. So there was a wonderful depth of perspectives and
experience present. Of course, Rose is a bit older than all of us, but
Zen her timeless perspective keeps us on our toes!
We
took our break from 5:21 to 6:03 PM., and feasted on cheese and
crackers, deviled eggs, roast beef pasta salad, carrot cake with
sour-cream icing frosted with coconut and garnished with egg candies
(that Jo made). We washed it down with the usual assortment of wines,
waters, and teas. It was truly a Passover/Easter celebration.
The
funniest part was after the break when Nardine came back on the
conference call, and said she had talked to her husband Pete about the
first half. He suggested a “Tarts on the Town” evening, a sort of
girl’s night out based on Rose’s comments. We all had a good laugh
imagining fun ways for the ladies to do that, and know that will make
it into one of the “theme headers” for this session.
Toward
the end, Denise asked a “crystal ball” question about someone she met
recently, and Rose said she doesn’t answer those kinds of questions.
Instead, she reinforced the need to be in touch with her own desires,
reduce her fears, trust and allow things to unfold naturally, address
these aspects of her creations, and the rest will follow.
I
asked about a couple of recent dreams that dealt with underwater
imagery. The first dream was from Saturday morning, so it was very
fresh. Essentially, I had been exploring an exciting, exotic underwater
locale, and was part of a very large craft that had a lot of people on
it. At one point, I became aware of my breathing apparatus, and
marveled at its construction, function, and the sweet taste of oxygen
that allowed me to breathe effortlessly. This is a recurring
dreamscape, and the fealing-tone is always exhilarating and one of
immanent discovery.
Rose said that there was an essence connection in terms of being immersed in essence, a kind of sontering
my essence. Also, there were “protection from death” beliefs being
addressed, as well as a future sub-mariner focus bleeding through. He
pursues a kind of underwater “skiing” that’s very exciting to him.
I
mentioned a second dreamscape from several weeks ago in which I was
near the surface of a large vessel with two men who were teaching me to
swim underwater. They handed me a face mask and breathing apparatus,
and I felt very comfortable and exotic breathing underwater.
And
yet, in this scenario, I had trouble seeing the men, and couldn’t go
more than five feet under, as the whole environment grew muddy and
difficult to sustain. I connected this to my Seth book, which is now
three quarters finished (I’ve had a string of books dreams throughout
the writing process since late December. I mentioned humorously that I
could write a book on the dreams involved while writing a book, but
that’s another project!).
Rose
commented that my book work allows me to focus on self in new and
exciting ways, and that the muddy waters won’t continue or dominate (as
witnessed by the latest dream, which was very deep and clear).
Denise
connected my mouthpiece imagery (breathing apparatus) to being a
mouthpiece for the Seth Material, in terms of translating those ideas
into a single book, and making it easier for them to read the Seth
books.
That’s
one connection I didn’t make myself, and why it’s great to have group
feedback on dream imagery, because something new always bubbles up (pun
intended ;-).
I
also asked a question about the end of last month’s group session in
which Rose said we’d all experience “a big surprise this week, a good
one.” There were two main directions that could go – some kind of
shared mass event or private personal experiences. For instance, I had
a financial stock make a significant and unexpected rise during that
week, but nothing earth-shattering on the mass event front.
Caryn
noticed that she paid more attention to the news during that week, but
ironically had a week that was so “bad” it turned out good as she
processed things. Jo and Nardine didn’t report anything out of the
ordinary.
Rose
pointed out it was one of her tests (surprise!) – an exercise to learn
to be open to good things that always await us, but we often block out
because of preconceived notions and expectations that blind us to the
miracles that always surround us.
Rose
closed by saying she’d quiz the group on what we come up with in terms
of ways to share the divine feminine with each other (another test).
While there are no quizzes at Rose sessions (you can’t pass or fail a
Rose session!), there are “tests” – exercises to help us discern new ways to thrive and follow our ways of spirit. Never a dull moment for sure!
We
finished at 7:05 PM. and had spirited conversations until 9:30-ish,
when Jo and I bid our guests good evening, cleaned up, and turned into
pumpkins.
The next group session won’t be until June 13th
because I have to finish my book draft and send it to the publisher by
the end of May. We’ll also be in Maui for two weeks in May celebrating
our 20th anniversary and 2nd anniversary with Rose. We’ll spend a week in the same cottage in Hana where the Rose agenda was written. My mom will be in town in June, so if you’re in the area, do stop by to say hello and join us!
Finally,
we published four transcripts during the last month, over sixty pages
of material. Three of them are privates, so they provide yet another
window in those kinds of interactions with Rose. Enjoy!

Dinner & A Dead Gal, Session 340
March 14, 2009, 4:38 PM.

Participants: Joanne, Paul, Caryn, Nardine (Heathcote Vic, Australia), Christoph (Graz, Austria), and Rumi the cat.
Rose opened with a monologue that helped to flesh out what she calls “the Contrary self.” Rather than elaborate, I’ll just include a link to the Podcast called Exposing YourSelf
[46:33] because it covers the first half, and the start of the second.
The title conjures up all sorts of imagery, and the mind races with
double entendres, though Rose humorously said this didn’t deal directly
with nudity!
This was also an unusual
session in many ways. Even though we had our smallest group to date I
was struck by the constant energetic exchange I experience when
engaging Rose. I call it being in “the mirror of self,” and I
experience a kind of “remembrance of essence” that triggers a certain
subjective fealing-tone that’s like opening a doorway that stirs
clearer inner communications. In other words, I enter an altered state
during these sessions, and it’s much easier to recognize these days.
Maya,
our girl kitty, usually hides in the bed room during a group session.
However, last night she was “trapped” outside of our bedroom because Jo
was already “resting-in-Rose”
to get ready for the session and the door was closed. When Caryn showed
up, Maya dashed under the living room couch and ended up spending her
first session with us!
Further, Rose made
a strange comment at the end of the first half that she would deal with
“northbound traffic” in the second half. Given her testy nature, we
weren’t sure what to make of it. However, no one brought it up during
the second half and Rose didn’t return to it.
So
after we said good-byes to Nardine and Christoph on the phone, we
remembered the comment, and decided to ask Rose about it. She returned
and said that it was not intended as a big deal, just as a
foreshadowing (she used the word “prophecy”) of the “direction” of some
of the questions for the second half. Rose also elaborated that
“northbound” had to do with “ascending” or inner focused energies in
relation to “descending” or physically manifest energies.
Caryn
admitted having a question about ascending energies earlier but she
decided not to ask it, and Christoph asked about energy centers in
relation to essence and the physical body in the second half. So those
seemed like hits in hindsight.
Even stranger was Rose’s parting comments. She usually summarizes, encourages us all in our “way of spirit,”
and says adieu. But last night she offered a cryptic, yet titillating
parting thought, namely “you will get a very big promise of a very big
sort of news in the air. Okay? We’ll be very broadly defining a big
surprise this week, a good one. Okay? Not a bad one. We’ll leave you
with that.”
We’ve learned not to take
these kinds of statements too literally, as it could be another one of
her tests. Yet based on experience, it will likely become startlingly
obvious as events unfold during the coming week for participants.
Whether it’s a mass event we all share, or we each have synchronous
“surprises” remains to be seen (which was my impression during morning
mediation). But it was another “prophetic” statement, and the first
time she did that to end a session.
Earlier, Nardine asked about Sylvia’s autotyping that’s been published in the Inner Visions Journal forum, and also a bit in the recent Sethnet Journal called From Dark to Light. Rose was very encouraging of Sylvia, and anyone else learning to hone their channeling abilities.
I
also pointed out that Lloyd, aka Grey Bear, Ellen Gilbert, Erich
Helfrich (my brother) and Emmy van Swaaij have also shared their
beginning channelings in the Inner Visions Journal. So that’s a safe
and nurturing place for people to experiment, and put their early
musings to get group feedback, encouragement, and interpretation. Rose
also talked about creating a “channeling school,” though not one of
bricks and mortar, but a virtual one connected by web presences like
NWV, Skype, and other emerging communications technologies.
Rose finished by reminding us that “practice makes perfect,” because our abilities need to be honed and developed.
I
also had very intense, vivid, and lucid dreamscapes from @3:30-6:45 AM
when I woke up Sunday morning. The early dreamscapes dealt with
familiar themes of wrestling, golf, and swimming underwater. When I
woke up to pee @3:45 PM, I was still so deep in the sleep state that I
couldn’t recall what I had done the previous night! It was like being
inside a veil. But after a minute or two, I realized we had held a Rose
session, and it hit me that I was subjectively processing her themes as
well as the recent research I’ve been doing on my Seth book (that’s now
half finished, and hope to be done a final draft by the end of May).
I
realized that I had visited deep regions of consciousness, and was
exploring them and translating the dream imagery into waking symbols to
better understand them. For example, the golf dreamscape involved a big
tournament with lots of people and I was getting ready to tee off on
the first hole. So it was part of some kind of mass event. Don’t know
yet if it has anything to do with Rose’s prediction of surprising news.
The underwater dreamscape dealt with a
new breathing device, that once I put it over my face and tasted the
pure oxygen, I had no fear about “going under water.” And that’s a
familiar dream trigger I use to visit other “areas of consciousness.”
These dreams were also characterized by a lucidity in which I knew I
was deeply immersed in deeper “work,” like dealing with Seth’s Speaker
manuscripts and other symbols (related to the Seth book).
Next,
in the dreamscape just before awakening, I was walking up a large
spiral to the top floor of a large building. Upon arriving, I
encountered a large room full of museum-like exhibits. Five docents
suddenly appeared out of the blue, almost as if waiting for my presence
to activate them.
They were strange,
enticing, and friendly at the same time, kind of Alice in
Wonderland-type characters. One was a “nun” made of two layers, each
with 4-5 faces peering out of long brown flowing robes (clearly
translating Rose essence tone into symbols that made sense. Her energy
and presence was BIG!).
Then I turned my
attention to one of the displays, and it featured a picture of a man
with a beard (another focus?). One of the docents came up behind me and
said, “So you like hair, do you?” in a kind of gay, Ricky Gervais
accent. When I turned around, I was confronted by a nine foot tall man
with long black hair that merged with his long black, chest length
beard. His eyes and nose barely poked through. He was friendly enough,
but still quite strange at the same time.
There
was a short scenario where a large crescent-shaped pendulum began to
swing wildly back and forth and I dove out of the way to the floor
between a coffee table and couch. The pendulum smashed into the back of
the couch, slamming it into the wall, but I was in a safe position and
just watched it swing back and forth. A voice called out that “Paul’s
doing exactly the right thing,” and there was nothing to worry about.
Again, I felt no fear at all, just reacted instinctively in the midst
of this wild and chaotic dreamscape.
Next,
4-5 beautiful, exotic “midget” women in colorful dress, and perfect
black hair waddled over to greet me. They appeared as the “next wave”
of characters for me to encounter. I started to laugh out loud and
said, “Now I have gone through the looking glass!” and actually
woke myself up laughing. Joanne was awake, and I excitedly told her
about the last dream.
In hindsight, it
felt just like an Alice in Wonderland sort of fealing-tone. We had
talked about Lewis Carroll last night after the session and noted that
the spelling of his last name was slightly different than the way Elias
spelled my essence name (Caroll). I googled the Elias spelling and
discovered that it was an older version of the name, as it’s mostly
spelled with two “R”s and “L”s nowadays.
Going
to the “top floor” to access this “room” represented the ascending
energies we discussed, and the docents and other amazing characters
represented other Aspects of mySelf accessible in this deeper area of
consciousness. The initial Rose character was BIG and bizarre. I also
made the connection to Seth’s Alpha states that I’ve been experimenting
with after many years as part of my book work.
Again,
the fealing-tone of all these dreams was familiar and quite out of the
ordinary. It has been many months since I’ve had these kinds of dreams.
So it likely represents some kind of new stage or phase I’m entering
into in my dream life; more to come on that front.
As we finished the session, I mentioned that we had updated the Rose Glossary to be easier to read, and also published a new one-pager
from Marcos’ 2008 private session in which Rose talked about the
relationship between Resting-in-Rose, Treantea, and the Contrary Self.
Last
but not least, on the culinary front we had a wonderful dinner of
dinner croissants with turkey, Swiss cheese, sprouts, and pasta salad.
For dessert, we had tea and a carrot cake Jo baked. Caryn left around 9
PM and we turned into pumpkins.
All in all, it was another stimulating group session. Our next one will be on April 11th. We hope to see you there!
Dinner & A Dead Gal, Session 335
February 7, 2009, 4:37 PM.

Participants:
Joanne, Paul, Caryn, George, Mike, Cat, Steve, Drew, Nardine (Heathcote
Vic, Australia), Marcos (New York City), Eduardo (Colorado), and Rumi
the cat.
Rose immediately opened the floor to questions, so the first half consisted of Q & A.
Steve asked
about someone who needs to be drunk in order to channel, and about what
methods of channeling Rose recommends. Rose replied with the word
“theatrics,” a code word for unnecessary trauma/drama, and said that
Steve’s friend was using alcohol as a coping mechanism to deal with
anxiety and personal responsibility issues regarding their channeling.
Rose
reinforced that the channeler needs to “get out of the way” to allow an
energy exchange of any kind. On the other hand, small amounts of
alcohol may be used constructively for that purpose. For example, Jane
Roberts often sipped a beer during sessions, Serge Grandbois may sip a
glass of wine, and Joanne often has a glass of wine during a session.
All channeling creates personal responsibility issues, and there’s
always some anxiety to cope with. It all takes practice and support! So
Rose was very encouraging of Steve’s friend to continue to practice but
cautioned that being drunk is actually a detriment.
Eduardo had
a question about some reading he had done, and the division of “light
and dark” energies and the notion of service to self and others in
relation to the current shift in consciousness. Rose replied that that
we all need to develop trust in our intuitions, it is a key provider of
health, wisdom, wealth, and happiness. It must be allowed to thrive.
This is subtle stuff [and whenever she offers that disclaimer it means
to be discerning, because it’s easy to confuse].
Marcos asked
about his inclination to be sharing per his Ilda alignment, and his
natural desire to share this information with others. He pointed out
that so much of conscious creation material is in English and there’s a
need, not necessarily for translations of English, but also for
indigenous material to be delivered across the world if the shift is to
unfold. He wondered if Rose and others were delivering material through
others as well.
Rose
responded that there were others doing “Rose work” around the globe,
and there are many “Rose selves” who are doing this kind of work right
now. There are ways to provide information that don’t require
channeling. Rose energy is expressed in the flowers, various forms, our
very breath, so it’s ubiquitous. All you need do is sense it, to
connect with it.
George
then asked if Rose would be his Valentine. To which she responded,
“Yes,” to the “aws” and “ahs” of the group! Then he asked about a dream
in which he held a wooden mouse in his hand, and he looked down and
realized that he needed to release it. It then took on a life of its
own, and George made the connection that the mouse represented things
he needed to let go.
Rose said
his interpretation was spot on, and that he would have more of these
kinds of dreams in the coming weeks, as he continues to process his
issues. She encouraged him to let go of his mice so they can thrive on
their own.
Caryn asked
about some info she got on the Ouija board, her source called her
“zaza” and mentioned a “zazatoon.” She looked it up and there was a
Mayan connection with a type of looking glass or oracle. Rose spelled
it “z-a-a-z-a-t-u” and said that it was a very ancient energy and that
its Mayan expression was only a recent version of it in our reality. So
she cautioned Caryn to go easy with it, and to “soften it out” in order
to get acclimated to the energy, but was very encouraging of her
continued experimentation.
Nardine
asked a question about her sacred contracts to bring love and light to
All That Is. Rose said there were many ways to say, “I love you.” All
That Is has many ways to separate and rejoin in a “sport of love.” The
reason behind separation is to foster more reasons to allow love into
our hearts. Rose encouraged us all to embrace separation and move into
new areas without fear.
I asked about the York Beach fragment personalities detailed in The Seth Material,
where Rob Butts and Jane Roberts were on vacation in York Beach, Maine
[where a Seth conference is being held in May 2009!]. Rob had severe
back pain, and during dinner they observed a couple who seemed familiar
but made them very uncomfortable because their energy was negative;
they looked tired and worn out. Suddenly Rob got the impulse to dance,
Jane was surprised, but they danced for a while and Rob’s back was much
improved the next day.
When they
asked Seth about this, he said they were “fragment personalities”
consisting of splintered off energies that represented a probable
future where Jane and Rob would have become like them, and not in very
good health. When those fragments left the room, Seth said they simply
disappeared. They were what Seth called “secondary constructions”
created by Rob and Jane, who in turn are “primary constructions” of
their essence imbued with the “full force” of the focus personality.

Rose commented that only Rob and Jane saw these, and their intent was indeed to offer helpfulness to show them how
they create their realities. Their essence knew that Rob would
eventually report and ask Seth about it all. So there was no biological
death for these “secondary constructions,” they simply disappeared when
they left the vicinity. They represented splintered off energies, what
we’d consider “negative” or unhealthy, that served as a motivation for them to take action.
Rose also cited the classic “ghost of Christmas future” from Dickens’ A Christmas Carol as representing the same kind of energetic function and intent behind these kinds of phenomenon.
Steve asked
about his brain dis-ease, and mentioned that Elias told him to learn to
let things go and try not to be so controlling. So what tips did Rose
have to help him to do that? Rose replied with her basic learn to
“trust and allow” theme, to learn to not wrong on yourself when you
can’t control things.
Then we
broke for dinner, while folks on the phone talked amongst themselves.
We had a veritable feast of smoked chicken, shrimp jambalaya, chicken
nuggets, smoked salmon, Armenian breads, broccoli salad, cornbread, and
grapes all washed down with the usual assortment of beverages. Desert
consisted of hot tea, “death by chocolate” brownies, and Valentine’s
Day candies.
BREAK: 5:32 PM.
RESUME: 6:12 PM.
Rose opened
the floor again to questions, and Steve asked about P’taah and other
sources that claimed a 9.0 earthquake and tsunami on the Oregon coast
was imminent and would wipe out the West Coast in the near future. Rose
said that these are probable futures that were “less probable” and
influenced strongly by the channeler’s belief systems. [I was reminded
of some of Edgar Cayce’s doomsday predictions and others who claimed
the West Coast would be destroyed years ago, none of which came to pass
in my probable reality.]
Steve then
cited that he had read about Rob’s envelope tests in which Seth could
perceive the paper but not the print. So there were hits and misses in
the tests Rob and Jane engaged, proving the Seth wasn’t an omnipotent,
omniscient, or omnipresent source. Steve then wondered how does Rose
“read people’s energy?”
Rose
responded that Seth’s was a more localized energy than hers, so Rose is
more “dispersed” than Seth. Her ways are more intuitive, in some ways,
and the point is that we all need to be discerning of her words, as
there is Rose energy within us all and she is “always listening.”
At this
point, people didn’t have any burning questions, so Rose introduced
some new material on “inductive selves” that were inspired by earlier
topics. Essentially, inductive selves are intended to promote our best
health and happiness. They are “Aspects of essence” like probable
selves, counterparts, dream selves, and even other essences who try to
communicate with us in a variety of ways.
It’s the subject of this month’s Podcast, so use this link to download and give a listen.
It’s a very interesting discussion with lots of good questions and Rose
patiently guiding one and all through new information. She even
introduces a new word, so you can share the spontaneous nature of how
Rose uses neologisms to loosen the analytical mind’s grasping and
pattern making, to slip in some fealing-tones and new ways to imagine
how various Aspects of inductive selves provide help, healing, and
guidance all the time.
The session
ended at 7:16 PM. and we said our fond farewells to folks in phone land
(Nardine, Marcos, and Eduardo). We continued lively discussions until
10:30 PM. when we turned into pumpkins and our guests wandered into the
evening for a rainy drive home. The next group session will be March
14, 2009. Do join us!
Dinner & A Dead Gal, Session 325
January 3, 2009, 4:35 PM.

Participants: Joanne, Paul, Caryn, George, Sarah, Nardine (Heathcote Vic, Australia), Mary (San Francisco), and Rumi the cat.
Rose
opened with a question: “Why do you fear the things you cannot change?”
This led to a discussion about what we can and can’t control. Rose
reminded us that fear’s purpose is to move us beyond where we’re at,
meaning it serves a constructive purpose once we learn to recognize and
identify what triggers our fears, as that inevitably helps us better
understand what we can and can’t control.
[I
was reminded of the serenity prayer that has hung in our kitchen for
over twenty years: “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I
cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know
the difference.” It also helps us understand the limits of objective
awareness (including thoughts, feelings, emotions, expectations,
imagination, etc.) and trust that subjective awareness has our back.]
Then
Rose prodded us to share how we might use an “old fashioned” method to
healp (help+heal) us deal with situations that we often feel are out of
our egoic control. Nardine suggested day-dreaming. I, utterly clueless,
humorously suggested eating ice cream.
Rose went old school and suggested prayer, but with a twist. She suggested we engage contemplative prayer and cleverly showed how her treantea, sontering, and resting-in-Rose samadhi practices all work toward this end.
[Samadhi means concentration or focused awareness. Treantea
is an introspective probability exercise in which you take the time to
consider possibilities that limiting beliefs may be hiding. Sontering is a breathing in of essence practice, similar to pranayama. Resting-in-Rose is a witnessing practice similar to vipassana.
All are contemplative and require silence, stillness, and looking
inward, then waiting for whatever unfolds and simply noticing, not
judging what arises, trusting and allowing it to unfold as essence
communicates through imagery, or voices, or fealings, or spontaneous
knowing, etc.]
I
then asked a question about the difference between contemplative prayer
and petitionary prayer. The former looks inward in silence, the latter
is more proactive, engaging thought processes to inquire, ask, believe,
and receive answers based on our desires which, when based on our
intent [essence families], produce spectacular results!
[Here’s some insight from Gandhi: “Prayer
is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of
one's [limits]. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words
than words without a heart.”]
I also brought up The Secret,
and the many recent spinoffs of reality creation 101 it has produced. I
tried to simplify “the secret” into a single thought, which Seth
provided early on: “You get what you concentrate on. There is no other
main rule.” So if we get what we concentrate on, then contemplative and
petitionary prayer can serve as complementary METHODS in which to focus
our desires in order to manifest them more easily.
Rose then encouraged us to keep it playful, and she explored the notion of “playing at praying.”
[The
important thing here is to notice if you experience religious
“antibodies,” as I call them, meaning when Rose goes old school and
resurrects religious terminology in its authentic, transformative form,
meant to healp us widen awareness and live more fulfilling lives, do
you reject the idea simply because of the words being used? If so,
you’re in good company!
[Rose
does this intentionally to stir the pot, and make us notice, recognize,
and identify limiting beliefs we have about religion in general. We
moderns threw out the transformative baby with the superstitious,
nonsensical parts of traditional religion. When we reject ALL
traditional practices, including their meditative and contemplative
practices, we do the same thing. The point is that there are time
tested methods that promote direct communication with essence. We now
have the ability to use them as we see fit. For more information, see The Toolbox.]
Rose discussed these ideas at length, and rather than detail them, give a listen to the Podcast called Play’n’Pray [52 minutes long].
[If you don’t like the word “prayer,” then use treantea, sontering, or resting-in-Rose. It’s not the words anyway, they’re just labels. It’s really what they mean, what they healp us concentrate on in terms of learning to communicate directly with essence.
[Finally, I am finishing The Early Class Sessions Book 1,
and I am struck by how often Seth challenged those in Jane’s ESP Class
ca. 1967 onward to look inward, in silence, and develop their
abilities. He wasn’t an easy teacher, but a humorous, loud, and in your
face kind of “dead guy” who demanded a lot from Jane, Rob, and all
participants.
[It’s
also a very interesting comparison to my experiences in the Elias forum
(11 years), Kris Chronicles (5 years), and Rose Vine (2 years). All
four teachers push their “students” according to their own intent and
teaching style. All four demand a lot, and don’t parcel to parcel out
sugar-coated niceties, though they have a tender, compassionate side to
them.
[Why?
Authentic transformation always comes with growing pains and birth
pains. “It ain’t all a bed of roses,” as Vic Pendley used to say. In
the long run, the transformative “path” always produces amazing
insights, growth, and new understanding as we shed old skins, beliefs,
and self-imposed limits.]
We
took our break at 5:33 PM and dined on pierogies, mozzarella prosciutto
log, chips, and crackers, all washed down with the usual assortment of
beverages. Desert consisted of a variety of hot tea, chocolate chip
cookies, assorted candies, and truffles.
We
resumed at 6:11 PM. Rose challenged George right off, and suggested she
had a gift for him, but he would receive it in dream state, so he
should pay attention to that! She challenged him to sonter himself to
find his ideas on prayer and do it more often as “the answers are in
you, in your way of spirit.”
Rose
reminded us that she is not omnipotent, doesn’t know all things, and
that we each must learn our own “language of self.” She reminded us
about our other focuses, probable selves, and that she was
simultaneously tuning into other Aspects of her being while engaging us.
[I
was reminded of Elias mentioning that he has different Aspects that he
engages us with, and that explains why his “tone” is sometimes
different, as he attends to many focuses of attention simultaneously as
well. Kris talks about Brahm, and other Aspects he’s part of, Seth
mentions Seth II, and Seth III. All of which points to the
multidimensional nature of personal reality, and that we are Aspects of
vast beings, vast focuses of attention.]
George
asked about his other focuses and Rose provided some info about the
Temples of Babylon, the Ishtar Chronicles [that I had never heard Rose
mention before. I googled it and got one reference to a video game.
Ishtar is a Babylonian goddess of the night and dreams], a Russian
focus with food and baking, an angry monk, and many other monk focuses.
Rose
asked George for his impressions, and he mentioned a Native American
focus, and a Roman soldier. Rose then gave a lot more info on Native
American focuses, and one that the entire group shared, which is always
a fun thing to explore impressions about. Rose prodded me to connect
with a Bear-Shaman in that focus.

Also, in an interesting sync, Caryn wore her hair down for the first time to a session in the style worn by indigenous peoples.
I also noted that she resembled the Mona Lisa!
Rose
discussed a shared lifetime ca. 1650 CE we all shared in the Sioux
Nation. Rose covered a lot of ground and mentioned a bunch of other
focuses as well.
The
permutations and possibilities are endless. The power of this
information is when we finally understand we are much more than a
single lifetime, and in terms of what Seth called counterparts – we have lifetimes in other centuries as well as NOW – then reincarnation
is not linear in ANY primary sense. Further, when we go to war or
murder, we are only killing ourSelves! Truly understanding this
principle would surely go a long way to ending wars and reducing crimes
of passion.
[Ironically,
Hamas and Israel went to war last week, yet again, in the most
interminable tribal warfare situation of my lifetime. I’m tired of it.
Why do these people refuse to get along? There appears to be no end in
sight, and all the world’s co-creating the situation. Still, if those
young men, women, and children were taught that each person they come
in contact with is a spiritual relative, how could they ever pull the
trigger? This is why this kind of information has been given, and is
slowly making its way around the globe, as part of this grass roots
movement we are part of, one that seeks peace, justness, and
fulfillment for all peoples.]
Rose
continued a bit, wrapped things up, and left the building at 7:03 PM.
We talked with Mary and Nardine on the phone for another twenty
minutes, and covered a wide range of subjects. After we bid them
farewell, we continued to discuss things here in Castaic. George also
regaled us with his amazing hero’s journey as an 18 year-old who
escaped communist Romania, through Yugoslavia, Austria, and finally
made it the USA all on his own with no family or connections outside of
Romania.
As usual, we turned into pumpkins at 10 PM. and bid our guests a fond good evening.
Our next session is on February 7, 2009. Check the Rose Website
for more information. We are moving to once a month this because I have
two book projects on tap this year – very exciting! – and need the time
to finish the drafts.
Thanks one and all for making this evening such a wonderful time!
Dinner & A Dead Gal, Session 310
December 13, 2008, 4:35 PM.

Participants: Joanne, Paul, Caryn, George, Tom, Nardine (Heathcote Vic, Australia), Mary (San Francisco), and Rumi the cat.
We
had a riotously funny opening to our session this past Saturday
evening. Mary and Nardine were in a jovial mood, laughing and chatting
when we joined them on the phone. I mentioned that Tom had brought
beautiful roses once again, and Rose launched off that comment joking
about a lifetime that Mary and Nardine shared in the Gardens of
Versailles during the French Revolution period in which Tom the
gardener (Nardine’s focus) enjoyed planting all kinds of things in
Mary’s “garden,” among others’.
Rose
continued with all sorts of ribald double entendres, and Mary’s
laughter continued throughout. At one point Rose even joked about the
Rose Sex Line being open, and that became the title for this session’s Podcast.
Essentially,
Rose talked about the positive aspects of sexuality. She uses the word
senxual (a hybrid of “sensual” and “sexual”) to describe this. George
said that he should just go home and put on a porn movie, and Rose went
on to say that pornography served, for the most part, as a very healthy
expression, while also acknowledging that there are unhealthy
expressions.
[In
hindsight, Rose used “pornography” in the mass market, billion dollar
industry context in which it first came up in the group. In official
reality, it has a negative connotation – all porn is seen by mainstream
society as BAD, BAD, BAD.
[And
yet, we now know that the repression of sexual impulses leads to all
sorts of pathology and hypocritical expressions like Senator Larry
Craig of Idaho’s airport bathroom sex scandal, Congressman Mark Foley
of Florida’s soliciting a 16-year old male page for sex, and
Evangelical Minister Ted Haggard of Colorado who publicly condemned
gays and secretly used meth and had sex with a gay sex worker (is it
any coincidence that all three aligned with the “family values” of the
Republican party in their public lives, and yet their private lives
were very different?)
[Once
you explore the definition of pornography, you realize it’s subjective
and relative to each person’s overall stage of development. What one
person may find pornographic and bad, another may find artistic and
good. It’s a very large grey area, and yet there are obvious rules,
laws, and social mores that evolve culturally over time that we all
must contend with.]
Rose
went on to say that next year will be called the year of “Sexuality and
Sexual Purpose” (this year was the year of “Trust and Allow”), and to
make a New Year’s resolution to have more sex in 2009, much to delight
and laughter of the group.
[Rose’s
intent was to shake things up a bit, and open the mind and body for new
possibilities. I believe that whatever two consenting adults (defined
as being 18 years old or older) do in the privacy of their bedroom is
their own business, as long as it doesn’t hurt living creatures.
[I
also wondered if Elias’ emotion wave would morph into a wave on
sexuality, or since that had been a long one from 1999-2002, it would
be a different one? Like the foreshadowed science wave, and how would
THAT explore these kinds of juicy issues and belief systems?]
Nardine
also shared a story about her private Rose session (to which Mary
humorously noted, “Not anymore!” :-) in which she had asked Rose to
identify a lifetime that she, husband Pete, Mary, and Marcos shared
together. Rose gave her the Garden of Versailles specifics and suddenly
the hysterical opening to the session made a lot more sense to those of
us in the dark!
Mary
made a detailed comment about “taking care of your animal (nature)” in
the bedroom, bathroom, and dinner table. This led into the next part of
the session in which Rose emphasized the sexual and emotional aspects
of self as being the foundation upon which we build throughout our
lifetimes.

Rose
queried the group as to what animal we might connect to? She mentioned
that Weary Girl (as she’s taken to calling Joanne recently instead of
Weany Girl) identifies with monkeys and chimpanzees. Mary said she
identified with a pink Manatee (a water-based mammal), and Rose
described them as senxy, wise, very intelligent, mermaid-type mammals
that were “petitioning” to become essence.
[This
relates to Elias’ concept that in the late 1990s whales and dolphins
became focuses of essence, which implies that we can now experience a
lifetime as a species other than Homo sapiens. I asked Elias about this
almost six years ago, and queried what the next species might be, as it
seemed that so many creatures seemed to be so highly evolved. Elias was noncommittal,
and in hindsight, it seems more likely that a water-based mammal like
whales, dolphins, porpoises, and manatees were highly probable
candidates since so much of our planet is covered by water, there would
be probabilities for interesting variations to evolve over time.]
Rose
returned to the Weary Girl’s monkey imagery and suggested we “throw
[our] shit and laugh about it,” and that “on Christmas, why not throw
your shit?” I pointed out that this sounded like something monkeys in
captivity are known for, and it would be messy and stinky. Rose said
that “the point is to THINK about throwing your shit around.”
[So
this is a very important point to understand – it’s easy to take Rose
literally when in fact she speaks in metaphors and symbols to make her
point, which is to honor and work with our natural body functions.]
I
humorously suggested that we send ten billion tons of shit to the Wall
St. Banks, Washington D.C. Senate and House of Representatives, and the
“big three” auto manufacturers in the USA (Ford, Chrysler, GM) to let
them all know that we think they need to clean up their act!
Rose
went on to comment about we are collectively beginning to move towards
new financial and governance structures, and that keeping a sense of
frugality and less fear than those caught up in the middle of the
current recession/financial crisis would be helpful in riding out the
storm, so to speak.
Rose
also presented a new word “ditriol” but didn’t define it. We looked it
up later and didn’t see anything in the dictionaries or search engines.
It sounds a lot like vitriol, which is kind of severe, caustic effect
of language or behaviors.
[So
we’ll see if she brings that back up in another session in a similar
context, or if it’s possibly a distortion on Jo’s part.]
Rose
mentioned the recent conviction of O.J. Simpson, and said that jail
will help him deal with his issues and his [subconscious] need for
punishment. There was more conversation about O.J. and how we create
events based on our own sense of violation to get our own attention and
hopefully address to our issues.
I
then brought up the $50 billion dollar fraud case/Ponzi scheme of
Bernard Madoff because I was curious what Rose would have to say about
the fact that this man had everything by conventional standards – a
hugely successful Wall St. career, money, power, fame, the whole nine
yards – and yet fealt the need to get even MORE.
Rose
said that he was a financial geanius who didn’t connect with his way of
spirit [which Rose defines as following one’s intent, and letting the
rest follow from the sturdy foundation of desires-aligned-with-intent.]
BREAK: 5:32 PM.
We
had a delicious dinner of maple turkey sandwiches with soy cheese on
potato rolls, pasta and potato salads, followed by Caryn’s homemade
gingerbread men and an after dinner shot of Polish honey-flavored
liquor George brought called Krupnik.
RESUME: 6:09 PM.
The
second half featured an spinoff of George’s and my conversation during
break, in which George continued his struggle to understand the
mechanics of reality creation – the “how to” part – in light of his
recent issues with his family (daughter and ex-wife).
George tried to frame a question and Rose challenged him to rephrase it into a clearer question.
[Which
always healps because experience shows that you get the level of answer
that you are able to project in your question, so the deeper and more
specific you can go, the deeper and more specific the answer!]
So George rephrased, “How do I change a belief?”
[There was a lengthy exchange, and George continued to beat a dead horse (his own words; I was also reminded of Elias’ hamster wheel). George continues to over-intellectualize the information and refuses to do any of the practices that Rose has offered, including Vespers, Sontering, Treanteaing, Discover Your Intent Name, and Resting-in-Rose meditation. These are all a means to more deeply understand the mechanics of reality creation. But if you don’t DO the practices, how can you expect any new results?
[My
conversations with George over the past few months healped me create a
metaphor that describes exactly what George, and others in the same
boat, are doing. They continue to focus on their half-empty cup to the
extent that they continue to perpetuate it! They refuse to spend much,
if any, time on their half-filled cup, which is what’s going right,
happy, and good in your life in spite of what difficulties you might
find yourself in (acknowledging that we each define these values
differently). I was able to point out to George repeatedly after the
session when he was talking about half-empty cup issues. He found this
useful.
[But
how can anyone expect to CHANGE the beliefs that contribute to their
problems when that is MOSTLY what they concentrate on all day long?
It’s axiomatic to all the teachings of Seth, Elias, Kris, and Rose that
“you get what you concentrate on.” And the more you concentrate on what
your life is lacking and how shitty it is only serves to perpetuate
those circumstances. You have to begin to focus on the half-filled cup.
Once you “address to” the core issues and related beliefs, you can
rapidly neutralize the negative/positive empty/full aspects of it and
simply BE what you desire your life to be. It’s really that simple!]
At
one point, Rose said that all you need do is DEEPLY DESIRE your
intended outcome [i.e., focus on the half-filled cup]. Follow your
intent and your way of spirit, and the rest will fall into place!

George mentioned that he wanted a schematic [or method], and I reminded him of Elias’ group session in March, 2007
here in Castaic that we both attended. Elias used a leprechaun metaphor
to represent the inner self, which is neutral and provides what we –
the outer ego –concentrate on, whether it’s good or bad in terms of our
belief systems. During that session, another participant, Steve Lord,
asked Elias for a reality creation method to healp him heal a dis-ease,
which Elias proceeded to deliver.
[Steve
and George align with Vold intent, and explore the mechanics of reality
creation in their own unique ways. It’s all a choice, of course, and
this why Elias often reminds us to simply notice what we’re
“choosing and doing,” as this reveals – objectifies – where our
attention is focused (aspects of the half-filled OR half-empty cup).
Our outer egoic attention is what fuels our perception, and is used to
create, change beliefs, etc. via what we chronically attend to, focus
on, or concentrate on. The inner self gladly provides what we desire
through our attention and perception.]
George
was also able to articulate the question, “Why do I resent essence so
much?” Rose pointed out the he blames essence for his problems, and
refuses to take responsibility for his own choices and creations. As
such, he continues to play the victim to essence role, and is blinded
to his own power.
Rose
provided some additional, helpful personal information to George. This
led to several final questions by Caryn, Mary, and comments by Nardine
that continued on related themes [and you can read them when the
transcript comes out].
The group thanked Rose and she bid us adieu for the evening.
END: 7:06 PM.
We
said our thank-yous and goodbyes to the phone people [Nardine, and
Mary], and had desert – hot tea and the homemade gingerbread cookies
that Caryn made. She made little faces on all of them, and no two were
exactly alike.
We
continued to talk about reality creation 101 with George, Tom, and
Caryn, as it was a small group there was no splintering into little
groups as is the case with a larger group. Around 10 PM. Jo and I
turned into pumpkins, bid our guest a fond good evening, and I dreamt
about half-filled cups, which I seem to have made quite a habit of
doing all these years! ;-)
Dinner & A Dead Gal, Session 306
November 22, 2008, 4:36 PM.

Participants:
Joanne, Paul, Caryn, George, Jeanette, Sarah, Tom, Ester, Nardine
(Heathcote Vic, Australia), Christoph (Graz, Austria), and Rumi the cat.
We had
another excellent session this past Saturday evening. Ten people
attended from three time zones, including Joanne’s mother, Jeanette,
who was out for her annual Thanksgiving visit from Evansville, Indiana.
Rose opened
the floor and asked Nardine to share her impressions about the recent
elections in the USA. Nardine, who lives in Australia, mentioned that
she didn’t follow the specifics of US politics, but was encouraged by
the election of Barack Obama. She also mentioned that they had recently
elected a new Prime Minister who had more progressive views, and that
was similar imagery.
Rose went on to mention that this was all shift
imagery, and that the Obama’s have “heart-ways” – a new theme she went
on to explore. It was not accidental that she had put Nardine on the
spot, because her intent name
is Heart Whisperer. Rose then went on to explain the need for
“heart-sense” (a play on the term “horse-sense”), something that is
held in “heart-space.”
Rose said that there will be a growth in the shift in terms of “heart-space.”
[This is an interesting expansion of Elias’ concept of widening awareness,
but from an empathic or fealing perspective. Also, in an interesting
sync, our Zen Calendar daily quote for Sunday read: “Everything comes
from your own heart. This is what one ancient called ‘bringing out the
family treasure’.”]
Rose
humorously referred to Joanne “weary girl” – a play on “weany girl” –
because she has been working so hard this year on multiple fronts.
Rose
mentioned that Dick Cheney, outgoing Vice President of the USA, had
difficulty with his heart-space, and cited his chronic heart problems
as evidence of his inability to maintain a healthy heart-space, as he
was stuck in his view of his body and mind. So now, in terms of an
opening heart-space, “the game is on!”
Nardine
gracefully acknowledged being put on the spot and gave herSelf credit
for not discounting self, as has been a pattern in the past. And since
she’s been addressing to those fears, she wanted to give herSelf a well
deserved pat on the back, to which I could only second her emotion!
[It’s
wonderful to see people getting comfortable with Rose and doing the
practices and work, and more importantly, getting results!]
Rose again
reminded everyone that she doesn’t know everything [an important claim
of fallibility that all authentic transpersonal teachers make].
I
asked a question about the recent election and stock market tanking
(bank, credit, and housing crisis) and wondered about the probabilities
involved. In other words, how close was Obama to losing, since the
stock market crashing had a lot to do with McCain’s defeat?
Rose gave a
long answer. She suggested that since we have selected this shift to
unfold, that Obama’s election and McCain’s defeat will help in that
regard. Rose added that John McCain had, in effect, sabotaged his own
campaign by contradicting himself, and making poor decisions that
adversely affected his campaign.
At one point
she used the phrase “ontologically suspect,” which seemed like a non
sequitur, because ontology has to do with the nature of being. As I
wondered if it was a distortion, an interesting thing happened. Rose
instantly stopped, as if directly answering my mental question, and revisited and redefined that phrase.
I checked the recording and here’s what she said: “(McCain) did want to allow the ontologically suspect
presidency to rest in another’s hands – ontologically suspect in the
sense that sometimes the respect that is incurred in the realization of
the presidency isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The respect that is
engaged, in some ways, is not truly desired.”
[Rose
sometimes uses words like “theatrics” and “ontology” when Joanne is
getting in the way, so this was an interesting example of something
getting distorted, Rose correcting as she goes along, and me
simultaneously tuning into that process. This reminded me of a story Ellen Gilbert shared
from a recent Kris Int’l. Session, in which she became aware of
simultaneously interacting with Kris on another “layer” of
consciousness.]
Tom asked a
question about Proposition 8, which had just passed in the recent
California elections. It defined marriage as being only between a man
and woman, and was a real setback for civil rights, ironically, in
light of the advances realized by the African-American community, who,
it turned out, 70% had voted FOR Prop 8.
Rose said, “The way of spirit is the way of self.” She then coined a new word [what else is new?] “g-i-n-t-o,” a combination of gin and into
to mean “gin running into spirit ways.” For example, people took a
banned substance like gin during the Prohibition, and still moved into
spirit by making their own “illegal” bathtub gin. The gin was in our
hands, the same way we take the laws into our own hands when we know
they are unfair and unjust. Rose encouraged us all to “drink in fully
the way of spirit.”
[This
doesn’t mean Rose promotes alcohol abuse and addiction, but that we,
the people, know when laws are unjust and always do something to
circumvent and overthrow them in the long run. The same applies to same
sex marriage. It IS a civil right, and history has shown that
conservative values eventually give way to more progressive views and
laws.]
Rose mentioned that our myths need to change and are changing to help us define a new story, a new worldview.
I also mentioned that in integral terms, that gender, orientation, and preference are three subsets of the belief system of sexuality according to Elias. In integral terms, they form a “horizontal” typology that influences our perception in all
stages of “vertical” development. In collective terms, there are three
main worldview systems whose dynamics influence global politics:
traditional (40%), modern (30%), and postmodern/integral (25%). So the
first two systems STILL contain many conservative values and have a
@50-70% majority on issues like same-sex marriage. Until the collective
widens awareness, including Rose’s lovely heart-sense and heart-space
metaphors, there won’ be a majority who hold mature worldcentric values
that support equal rights on a systemic scale.
[As a side note, during this exchange I also had a very strong impression that Seth’s value fulfillment, one of his eleven laws of the inner universe, was metaphysically equivalent to Ken Wilber’s Eros/Agape.
That is, value fulfillment drives the evolutionary AND involutionary
currents that underlie all human reality creation and strongly
influence the widening of individual and collective awareness over long
periods of history. However, there’s no guarantee that human
collectives will widen. They can regress (e.g., Dark Ages) and arrest
(e.g., divine right of kings) for long periods of time as history also
shows.]
Caryn asked a question about Jim Jones and the mass suicide at Jonestown, Guyana in 1978. She had seen a documentary on its 30th anniversary.
Rose
mentioned that many of Jones’ followers had given up their individual
power to join his religious group. She also labeled him a psycho- and sociopath [meaning his innate sense of violation
was egocentric – me-centered. It was no higher than a 2-7 year olds’
sense of right and wrong. But this didn’t happen overnight as Jim Jones
had previously done many wonderful things in his ministry, but
something changed for the worse after the move to Guyana, and it
resulted in the deaths of 913 people, including the murder of a
congressman from California.]
Rose said
that Jones did NOT use his heart-sense in the final stages of the
group’s time in Guyana. His lack of empathy allowed him to move into an
immoral area. Rose then circled back to the US elections and mentioned
that healthy governance requires leaders to use their heart-sense so
that people can thrive, and develop their greatest potentials.
Caryn
wondered how our heart-sense manifests. Rose replied that our
intentionality is innately meant to not hurt others. It’s about
helping, not hurting. People thrive when they connect with their
intent. So it’s connected to how deeply we align with our intents.
[By
implication, when we go to the dark or pathological side, we somehow
lose our way and disconnect from our intent. When we really connect
with our intent, like Barack Obama, for example, we tend to allow
ourselves and others to thrive.]
[I also connected Rose’s new concept of “heart-sense” to Seth’s fealing-tone and empathy, for when we really connect with others-as-Self we begin to authentically “walk a mile in their shoes.”]

Tom asked
about what happened at Jonestown from a mass co-creation perspective?
Rose said that people need to love themselves first, before they can
truly love others, and that many of those individuals did not truly
love themselves, and that something got lost in the process of leaving
the USA and starting over in a new country. Rose said that heart-sense
is all about loving self, so that we may love others! We have to learn
to connect the dots, and heart-sense helps to facilitate this.
[I also had an impression that dealt with the notion of ideals – thinking of Seth’s practicing idealist
– becoming corrupted by a pathological leader who had absolute power
over his flock. Most traditional religious groups that go to the dark
side are based on what Ken Wilber calls dominator hierarchies.]
Nardine rounded out the first half by acknowledging the importance of loving self as much as others.
We broke at
5:35 PM for a dinner feast that consisted of a chicken stew, BBQ
chicken, tortillas, potato and veggie salads, beans, rice, and rolls.
Based on
conversations raging over the dinner break, Rose began the second half
on how we give up our power to authorities outside ourselves, and how
we’re slowly but surely learning to become our own authorities during
this shift in consciousness.
[This takes
getting used because we’re taught as children to defer to authority on
all fronts, including parents, teachers, police, political and
religious leaders.]
Christoph
asked a question about his intent name, as he was getting closer and
knew that it had to do with “helping people lose their fears.”
[Christoph is Tumold belonging-to, Milumet aligned, and a medical
student.] Rose told us all that we could don our “medical hats” and
heal ourselves of our fears! Rose also gave Christoph a working name of
“Fear Healer” to help him with his intent name.
Rose then shared that the “weary girl” I had a fear of breathing.
[Joanne has
had asthma since she was two years old, and remembers holding her
breath to stop crying while being yelled at by her father to do so.]
Rose reminded us that fear helps to get out attention into areas of health that need it.
[Elias also claims that emotion is an avenue of essence communication.
So fear is another direct communication from essence to get our
attention! I’m also talking about anxieties and other neurotic symptoms
that accrue as we deal with the vagaries of life. By the time we reach
adulthood many of us acquire a lot of emotional baggage, but Rose is
showing how it can be used as a tool to help us heal and move on.]
I commented
that I had continued to do work on my intent name (Kagid al tumbra) and
wanted to translate it into an English “name.” In a morning meditation
last week I got the theme of “how things work” in relation to my
interests in teaching, music making, and lucid dreaming. I then added
“Explorer of How Things Work,” but realized that was too masculine, too
common.
So I went
into the fealing side, the feminine side, and added “Fealer of How
Things Work.” It placed an emphasis on emotions and fealings that I
continue to work on getting more in touch with. So I suggested that
Christoph’s intent name might include “Fealer of People Losing Fears”
to help him make further connections.
Rose then moved into fears again, and asked anyone who was comfortable to share a fear that they had connected with.
[It was also a Workshop theme, so it has been in play for many months now.]
Ester shared
that she had a fear of “wasting space” in the group, meaning that she
fealt resistance in asking questions because her needs weren’t as
important as others in the group.
Ester then shared a story from her private session in which Rose pronounced the name of the Greek goddess Hecate differently, and it threw her for a loop. Rose pronounced it hek-kate and Ester pronounced it as heh-kah-tay.
So Ester had trouble connecting with Rose’s pronunciation, and assumed
it was the only correct one because, well, Rose was the expert. Right!?
Put another
way, Ester discounted self until she finally realized that she was
giving up her power, once again. So she took it back when she continued
to work with her preferred way of saying Hecate! However,
interestingly, in time she also began to connect with Rose’s way of
saying it too.
Rose said
that we do mythically portray essence or inner self as gods and
goddesses, and that’s perfectly okay. She acknowledged that Ester was
also exploring the sounds of words and their energetic meanings. Rose
next acknowledged the importance of questioning authority, and reminded
us again, that she’s not the final say on things, and we must learn to
become our own authority.
This
reminded me of the American comedian George Carlin who recently passed
away, and always told his audience to QUESTION AUTHORITY! I realized
that he was the perfect example of what Rose calls The Contrary Self, whose purpose within each of us is to constructively promote thriving, healthy people and communities.
Gordon, who
joined us late, mentioned that his “spirit guides” had helped him to
face his fears by no longer ignoring them. So any time he experiences a
fear, he now does his best to keep it in awareness and seek its cause,
which helps to neutralize it.
[Put another
way, Rose is pointing out how fear can be used as a tool – the signal,
the emotional communication – to help us notice, recognize, identify,
address to, and neutralize our fears.]
There were
additional questions and answers. Christoph asked about his nine-year
old dog who is having health problems. The vet said he would require
surgery to remove his testicles in order to reduce the testosterone in
his system. Christoph understood that his dog mirrors his own issues,
but at the same time creates its own reality.
[Still,
castration is a serious issue for any man! For me, it comes down to the
quality of a life in terms of making any decision to have this kind of
irreversible operation.]
Rose raised the fear of death, and Christoph recognized that he was exploring that.
[We all have it, and we all have psychological defenses to cope with it such as denial and repression.]
Rose used another one of her neologisms – healp – to help and heal,
and given the intent name that Christoph is exploring (Fear Healer), it
is clear that his dog is lending energy to healp him face his own fears
so that he may healp others face and heal theirs.
Rose didn’t offer any final decision on whether his dog should have the surgery. She suggested he rest-in-Rose to seek his own impressions and trust his inner authority to make the best decision for everyone involved.
Nardine
mentioned that it is a process to learn to be brave together [as no
decision effects only one person or dog. These important decisions
affect the whole family.]
Rose wrapped
things up, said her fond farewells, and left the building at 7:11 PM.
We thanked her, as always, and I made a few announcements:
1. There are new transcripts on the website, including JoRose speaking at the recent Colorado Seth Conference to her largest audience yet (over 80 people).
2. A new podcast is published on the Essence of Rose website every Monday after a group session.
3. There is a new email list on NWV – The RoseVine – moderated by Nardine Neilson. There’s a couple of interesting Topics on the Workshop and Intent Names.
4. A 3-CD set plus print materials are now available from the Face Your Fears/Follow Your intent Workshop.
5. I just
got the “green light” from the publisher we met at the Seth Conference
on the outline I submitted to write a “Seth for Dummies” book. They are
adding it to their Fall 2009 lineup. Stay tuned for details.
We thanked
everyone on the phone for attending, and said our goodbyes. We had tea
and desert, which consisted of macaroons and apple pie. A delicious
time was had by all, even Rumi the cat.
Our house
guests stayed and talked until just before 10 PM. when Joanne and I
turned into pumpkins. The next D&DG session will be on Saturday
December 13, 2008. Thanks to all who attended!
Dinner & A Dead Gal, Session 299
October 11, 2008, 4:37 PM.

Participants:
Joanne, Paul, Caryn, George, Joyce, Steve, Mike, Kat, Nardine
(Heathcote Vic, Australia), Mary (California), Marcos (New York City),
Catherine (Tennessee), Christoph (Vienna), and Rumi the cat.
We had another
great session this past Saturday evening with thirteen people attending
from five time zones. Rose opened with brief comments about our fears,
once again, and then turned it over to the group for questions.
Mary opened with a
story about waking up one day last week being fearful about buying and
moving into a new house. She was able to divert her “fearful self’s”
attention by concentrating on other, more practical tasks, like what
kind of furnishings and décor she would purchase and install, and
managed to keep her fearful self at bay throughout the day.
Rose said that the
fearful self relies on the ego, what it’s used to doing without
thinking [similar to Elias’ automatic responses]. Fear only what you can control, and allow what you can’t
control to be handled by essence, which requires trust and allowance.
Moreover, we can learn to allow essence to communicate info about the
things we can’t control.
Steve asked a
question about the week’s crazy slide of the world’s financial markets,
and wondered if Rose would indicate whether it will end soon. Rose
didn’t give any specifics of that sort, though she mentioned that the
bottom will be reached when we each create that.
Trust or lack
thereof is the core issue being addressed to in the crisis. When the
global banks no longer trust each other to stay solvent, their belief
in risk rises, and they stop lending money, which ripples out. There
were expressions of “anti-trust” [which I equated with the fear and
panic that spread by the end of last week], for example, people don’t
trust spirit, self, or people with different associations.
Rose
moved into an exploration of the relationship between essence and focus
[or what Elias calls subjective and objective awareness] and how they
each work to create our realities. This led into an intense and heavy
discussion because it brought various issues, fears, and questions to
the surface in the group. Rather than say any more, I’ll provide a link
to this week’s Podcast since it contains an abridged forty minute version of this discussion that led into our dinner break.
Speaking of which,
we had a delicious smorgasbord on Saturday that included different
kinds of bagels and baguettes, lox, cream cheese, spinach and spicy
quiche, olives, grapes, sliced fresh tomato, feta cheese, eggplant dip,
pasta salad, and Ghiradelli chocolate brownies. All of which were
washed down by the usual assortments of wines, beers, red iced tea,
sodas, and water. We also had hot tea with desert for the first time
since May. The half hour break turned into forty-five minutes as people
had vibrant conversations here and on the phone. Somehow, it felt good
to really dig into some serious challenges that various group members
were contending with, as it really seemed to open the door for a lot of
stuff!
Marcos kicked off the second half with a story about fealing
strange all day and really for the past few weeks, which was partially
related to his difficult business dealings during this very difficult
period for the worlds’ stock markets. Rose riffed that “the way of
spirit” is to surrender to happiness, as the way of spirit affects
everything we do. She reinforced the effort that Marcos had allowed in
surrendering to the essence self to help him get through the turbulent
days, helping him shed his fears so as to spread ripples in a tealling sense into the environment, using himself as a model for handling trauma.
Christoph mentioned
that he had been experimenting with autotyping and got some results,
but also wasn’t sure if he was just making things up [which reminded me
of many people in the early stages who say that autotyping and
channeling feals
that way at times]. But Rose assured him that he was doing a fine job
and encouraged him to continue his experiments and do his best to relax
and let go, and allow essence to come through.
Christoph
also got two names – Ravan and Ravella – and wondered if either might
be his essence name? Rose said that the first name was bird imagery
relating to Rose’s connection with all birds (Ravens) in our dimension,
and that the second name was indeed his essence name.
[I was stuck by
this connection with the Raven, as it is black and part of the Crow
family. Both are birds I associate with Sumafi energy, and we have both
here in Castaic year round. I often see them when I take my weekly
walks up and down the local canyons.]
Christoph also
mentioned seeing little white dots when staring at the blue sky, and
also there was some merging cloud imagery that Rose said was essence
trying to communicate, and to continue to experiment and be open to
whatever happens.
Catherine mentioned that she understood Rose’s concepts of “trust and allow”
intellectually but had trouble making them work during an episode at
work where she was in charge of an event. She began the day in good
form, and was relaxed and ready to go, but as she got into the event,
things happened that threw off her concentration and she lost that easy
going fealing tone that she had stabilized earlier. Rose gave her a
long answer on how to allow fear to actually help her through the
process, as its main purpose is to help us move or make changes that
are beneficial.
I shared a
self-hypnosis practice that I found very useful for performing in front
of a group of peers, a situation where it is normal to sometimes get
nervous or have our feathers ruffled somehow. Essentially, the idea is
to help the mind visualize its way through the entire event with grace
and deep confidence, so that when curve balls or the unexpected occur,
we still deal with them with grace and confidence.
Nardine shared that she had worked through some of her own fears during the past week in rolling out her new RoseVine forum on NewWorldView,
recognizing old patterns, old processes that interfere with her intent
as a “heart whisperer.” So the process of moving through that was very
helpful for her, as well as learning to speak up in the group. She does
have important things to say!
We closed out with
another round of questions from Steve who invoked interpretations of
Elias and tried to get Rose to comment, which she did, on the
difference between desires and wants
in relation to how essence [subjective] and ego [objective] work in
concert to create reality, such as healing, loving relationships,
abundance, and fulfillment.
[During the evening
Rose mentioned that she created all our realities more than once, and I
thought she was baiting or testing us, because that notion seems to
contradict many things emphasized by Seth, Elias, Kris, and other in
terms of the outer ego and its role in making choices via belief
systems, which is central to how we create. But just as
Seth, Elias, and Kris have done, she is helping us identify with our
essence selves, only taking a different approach. “You create your
reality” is true when “you” is defined as including essence. “Essence creates your reality” is true when “essence” is defined as including
you. In other words, if we can’t understand that “you” includes
essence, then we might understand that essence includes you. Therefore,
it doesn’t mean to give up and no longer take responsibility for being
able to change our situations, as both George and Steve reflected in
their challenges to Rose.
[The danger in
doing this is using “Rose said” to blame something outside ourselves
for creating something we find difficult, unpleasant, or unhealthy.
It’s a BIG topic, and the conversations brought up lots of interesting
questions and answers, as always.]

The session ended around 7:30 PM. and we thanked all the folks who joined us on the phone, and mentioned our upcoming Halloweany group session and workshop on Oct. 31/Nov. 1, and that the next Dinner & A Dead Gal would be on Saturday Nov. 22nd.
Our guests stayed
until just before 10 PM. when Jo and I turned into pumpkins and went to
bed, but there were ongoing discussion and debates as to the mechanics
of reality creation and what Rose, Elias, Seth, Kris, or Wilber meant
when they said so and so, and on and on we went! All told, it was a fun
and stimulating evening.
Dinner & A Dead Gal, Session 294
September 20, 2008, 4:35 PM.

Participants: Joanne, Paul, Caryn, George, Joyce, Nardine (Heathcote Vic, Australia), Mary (California), and Rumi the cat.
We had another great session this past Saturday
evening. Rose spoke for over two hours on a variety of topics. Before
the session we were talking about the upcoming US elections, and Rose
dove right into the fray.
Rose also said that things can be “fucked up” and
they sometimes are. I mentioned the recent financial crisis on Wall St.
that pointed to a corrupt business model driven by greed and
selfishness that was no longer viable or sustainable. And that produced
conversation between the group and Rose on Reaganomics, Barack Obama’s
fear of mentioning the Keating Five S&L scandal that John McCain
supported in the 1980s, and various corrupt business practices that
pass for normal in Washington DC.
Rose circled back, once again, to the importance of
the contrary self and its purpose to act towards our best interests by
speaking up, acting on what we can control, and promoting the best self
we can. The rest will take care of itself, but Rose quoted Seth’s “the
point of power is in the present” and it’s important to feel our own
power by acting contrary as necessary to stop others from taking undue
advantage. She reminded us to not fear what is beyond our direct
control, but also to “be careless [carefree] so as to allow your best
selves to thrive,” which means do what you can, then let it go.
Rose mentioned that in the current financial climate
we need to apply healthy AMBER/BLUE values (in integral terms these are
traditional values that promote healthy communities) to help curb the,
in my terms, selfish, egocentric, greed, predator/prey, get rich quick
scam artists that gamed the mortgage and credit markets to such an
extent that they have completely collapsed. This translates into real
people losing jobs and their homes, and high paid executives
negotiating buyouts, mergers, fire sales, and other strategies to
prevent further collapse.
George made a funny comment, he said that Rose was
“one fine, fiery broad” as she encouraged the group to feel empowered
in the face of such a mass event. I jokingly told Nardine, one of our
transcribers, to use that as a title in the transcript (stayed tuned to
see if she does J).
Rose
made an interesting distinction that we need to EXPRESS the contrary
and not BE a contrary self. She got a little Zen, but the intent was to
show that the contrary self, when being bitchy, pushy, in your face,
intrusive, even dare I say BAD, the intent is to be constructive, which
means to promote growth and development, not destructive, which is
intended to hurt, marginalize, negate, and destroy. Rose suggested we
“be mad as hell and not take it anymore” (thinking of the reference to
the 1980s movie Network).
Again, the point is constructive action, not destructive action.
Joyce, George, and I had a long riff about who is the
“you” who creates, as Rose has been pointing out the essence “calls the
shots” which leaves poor old focus or outer ego feeling a bit out of
control, and yet, the more I explore mySelf in my fullness, I
understand that the “I” who creates ALL my reality is much, much more
than my Paulness, though that Aspect has a very important say in the
matter! So it’s all about balancing those elements, and learning to let
go, and trust and allow what we can’t control. It’s quite a dance!
Rose reminded us that there’s no such thing as
perfection, and that we need to address to that limiting belief,
because we try to understand the mechanics of reality creation in
literal, rational, formulaic terms so that we might better control it,
and yet there’s no better! Again, she got a little Zen saying that “in
every way, perfection is a myth, and imperfection has its own
perfection…” All of which is intended to help the rational, grasping,
seeking mind, relax and let go of what it can never control.
We had a 35 minute break for a delicious dinner of
sausage stew, salmon, Chilean bass, and smoked chicken, with fresh
bread baked by Caryn, and pumpernickel all washed down with the usual
assortment of red iced-tea, wines, and water. For dessert, Joyce
brought a scrumptious tray of pastries. Rumi liked the chicken!
We resumed and Rose talked a bit about the group
session she did at the Seth Conference in which Jo “fell on her face,”
which felt like a test to me because I and many people thought Joanne
did a marvelous job, though Jo was disappointed that her performance
may have been hampered by her nervousness. Rose had told her prior to
this session that she’d say something about the Seth session that would
“deserve a big grin.” That was the reason she said “fell on her face” –
to help Jo let go and have more fun and less fear. What a great example
of treantea – allowing multiple views of things to help us relax our
expectations of certain outcomes.
Caryn
asked a question about Rose’s energy, which is overwhelming to her at
times, as she often feels Rose’s answers to questions before she gives
them. Rose said that she was picking up on her energy as it’s in her
too, and she can channel in her own way and was very encouraging for
Caryn to keep experimenting with her own abilities.
Caryn
mentioned that Rose often says, “You are us, we are you” and wondered
how that actually worked? Rose gave a longer reply, mentioning that
what she says is “true but partial,” which by definition means it’s
difficult to communicate all that makes up Rose’s awareness. But there
was a lot more and it’s in this week’s podcast.
Joyce asked a question about how geography affects
what channels we draw to ourselves, and Rose delved into the many
different intents that channels may express. Not all are Sumari like
Seth, or Sumafi like Elias or Rose. For example, some are Tumold/Ilda
like Daryl Anka who channels Bashar.
I also noted that during the Seth conference I had
several strong impressions about people who I’ve come to know very well
over the years and realized that they hold Sumari/Sumafi intent
(belonging to/aligning with). That included Mary Dillman, Jon Klimo,
Barbara Bolduc, and myself. Making the Sumafi connection made a lot of
sense.
I also asked Rose to confirm that Jim Funk and Jim
Gilbert were also Sumari/Sumafi and she confirmed that with one caveat,
that Jim Funk is aligned with Sumafilda – a hybrid of Sumafi and Ilda.
All of this explained a lot as these folks have all worked over the
years to explore the legacy of the Seth material. It made sense that
the Sumafi would be involved in perpetuating the original information
with least distortion in their own ways, while also having a very
strong Sumari belonging, which explains the deep Sumari connection.
There was more, but we’ll leave that for the
transcript. The session was very enjoyable as it was a relatively small
group of seven, so we all got to ask more questions and joke around a
bit. We ended around 7:25 PM, and said our farewells to Mary and
Nardine, and continued to chat until 9:40 PM when we turned into
pumpkins. Thanks everyone!
Four Days of Peace, Love, and Rock’n’Soul
Jo
and I just returned from and are still basking in the afterglow of the
2008 Colorado Seth Conference (Sept. 11-15). Attended by over one
hundred kindred spirits, this year’s theme was The Dance of Consciousness: Waltzing Through Inner and Outer Realities,
and did we ever dance and sing and play! New and old friends gathered
and shared four days of peace, love, and rock’n’soul – literally a
Colorado Rocky Mountain high.
If you’ve never been to one of these events, you must
put it on your calendar for next year! The Conference Committee is made
up of an incredible alchemy of people dedicated to the exploration and
practical application of the Seth material. They create a fun and
nurturing environment with something for just about everyone.
The Committee consists of Jim and Carol Funk, Jim and
Loretta Gilbert, Dawn and Morgan McKay, and Nancy Walker (daughter of
Helen, an emeritus member). Along with Dana Beardshear in the Break
Room, and Marnie Leichtenberg who runs the Bookstore these folks put in
amazing amounts of time and energy every year to provide a high
quality, memorable experience. As a group they have really hit their
stride.
I can’t say this enough, and I don’t usually gush,
but these folks are clicking on all cylinders and the three conferences
Jo and I have attended (2006-2008) have just been incredible. It’s
clear that they love what they do, and you have to, as Jo and I know
from running our own conferences in 2001.
We are so appreciative and in awe of how well this
group works together. As Seth said, “When intuitive knowledge and
understanding overflow, then it overflows into all kinds of creativity
and it is. It does not form groups. Groups appear. There is a
difference. There is no need to form groups. Groups appear because
there is no need to form them.” [1]
Again, if you’ve ever thought of going but come up
with excuses to not make this trip, it is worth every single penny.
Frank Collins poignantly pointed out that he no longer measures his age
in terms of years, but in terms of these yearly “family” gatherings. So
if you are one of those who equivocates start saving NOW, and put the
2009 Colorado Seth Conference on your travel calendar!

The main room and tables were decorated with theme
related icons, doodads, and colorful arrays. It made the environment
relaxed, fun, and light hearted. There was truly something for everyone
in the conference format. The core experience revolved around two
morning, two afternoon, and an evening session. There were three group
dinners, a dance party, a “free” happy hour every night and buffet
breakfast every morning (with the price of hotel room). It was a
delightful setup.

This year’s conference took place in the Embassy
Suites, which had a lovely, sun-drenched atrium, waterfall, and lots of
places to sit, eat, and chat in between sessions. All of the rooms
exited into the atrium so you feel a part of everything. Jo and I
didn’t even make it out of the hotel until Day 3, when we walked to a
Whole Foods for a delicious lunch.
This year’s group of presenters
was an eclectic group whose talks complemented each other and
overlapped in synchronistic ways. Each talk is recorded and you can
purchase a DVD or audio CD (for more info contact Jim Funk at: cjfunk3
[at) earthlink.net). You can also check out the conference schedule. I was impressed by the diversity of presentation styles, and it’s hard to say there was a favorite, as I really enjoyed every talk I attended, and there are several occasions where there are two at once, so you can pick and choose.
Thursday evening began with a short tribute to Rob
Butts, who most know passed away on Memorial Day, May 26, 2008. Several
people came to the podium and gave their respects to Rob including me.
I read part of my blog post called In Memoriam Robert F. Butts,
and closed with a short 2:56 slideshow that I literally threw together
the night before we left. People enjoyed it, and upon returning I
created a longer version, now 7:02, with two Enya songs that
incorporated a bunch of pictures I didn’t have time to scan beforehand.
That slideshow is now available on YouTube.
On Friday morning I did my talk on The Developmental Seth
and applied the integral approach to a survey of how Seth and Jane
defined development in terms of the multiverse (levels of reality) and
multidimensional self (levels of selfhood). I was able to incorporate
musical interludes to relax the intellect, an eight minute psy-time,
and a couple of additional exercises to provide a direct knowing of the
concepts. It was well received, and it’s always nice to finish that
part of the trip, and relax into the other sessions. (I will make the
video and materials available as soon as I receive and process them, so
check back here for the links next week.)

Joanne and
Rose spoke to the group for an hour after dinner on Saturday night.
Session 287 was the biggest group they have addressed to date. It went
very well, though the setup was a little too formal, in hindsight, with
Jo in a chair on the podium. I was impressed by how well Joanne handled
the pressure of going in front of this group while being only in her
second year of her exchange with Rose. Seth is a tough and really
impossible act to follow! And yet, the group warmly received JoRose and
asked some really good questions of Joanne after the session regarding
the exchange and her role with it.
Of
course, being in a Seth group, there were a handful of people who
channel and have other psychic abilities present. One woman, Georgiena,
came up to us afterward with a sketch of JoRose’s aura. Georgiena saw
rose and gold colored lights around JoRose’s torso and a rather large
crown that she said was four times as big as when she saw
Ester Hicks and Abraham.
I don’t know if there is a direct crown chakra
correlation between the “size” or density of the essence gestalt that
people exchange with, but we do know that Rose consists of many
millions of essences, so it makes sense that there would be something
in JoRose’s aura to indicate this.
Georgiena also pointed out that “grounding” elements
appeared under JoRose’s chair about fifteen minutes into her speaking,
and this was around the time that JoRose settled more into the
exchange. Again it takes a lot of courage and energy to go in front of
such a “venerable” group as Joanne pointed out after the session.
Rose surprised me (what else is new?) and gave a long
dissertation that lasted over forty minutes before opening the floor to
questions. She centered her comments on fear, and its purpose – a theme
she has been fleshing out all summer, and leading into our Fall Halloweany Workshop: Face Your Fears, Follow Your Intent. (Veddy Spooky!)
Rose mentioned that she consisted of Dream Walkers (in the plural, a new nuance), explored sontering
(one of her neologisms) or breathing in of essence, the way of spirit
as our way of following our intent, pointed out that everyone has the
ability to channel, riffed on the contrary self (and I thought who was
a better exemplar of that than Jane Roberts!), encouraged the group to
“teall” (tell and teach) the Seth material to those who are ready for
it, but not in an evangelical way, touched briefly on standing up to
the bullies, and answered questions by Melinda on Hurricane Gustav that
affected her home in Louisiana, and “Rolly Ronnie” on the contrarian
spontaneous self. (A podcast will be available soon, check back here
for the link.)
Over all, it was a solid performance by JoRose. The
hour was getting late, bellies and minds were full from dinner and two
days of Seth, and the material and delivery was quite new to the group,
sort of like listening to a favorite band play only new music you’ve
never heard before. The group was polite and very supportive, knowing
that Jo is still in the early stages of her energy exchange. There was
a stark contrast from Seth and Jane, as JoRose has a softer delivery, a
more feminine energy (compared to Seth’s blatant macho), and unique
syntax and new words that take time to assimilate. We are very grateful
for the opportunity to share Rose with the group, as it takes a village
to get any public channel to the next level, so to speak.
We were also reminded that we have such good teachers
in Seth, Jane, and Rob’s early experiences, as well as all we learned
from helping Mary Ennis (Elias) and Serge Grandbois (Kris/Brahm) to
develop their websites as they got started. So we’re in good hands and
appreciated all those who came up afterward with words of encouragement
and constructive criticism. Thanks everyone! A session transcript will
also be available in a few weeks on the essence of Rose website.
Jo also held three private sessions during the
conference in our hotel room. They lasted about an hour, and each
person got their audio files emailed when we returned, and audio CDs
got mailed yesterday.
From this point, I’m going to let Barbara’s, Brent’s,
Nick’s, and Denise’s pictures tell the story, as they say, a picture’s
worth a thousand words. Thanks again to everyone we saw and spent time
with this year. We had a fabulous time, and look forward to next year!
Much love!

Dinner & A Dead Gal, Session 283
August 30, 2008, 4:36 PM.

Participants: Joanne, Paul, Ursula, Caryn, George,
Sarah, Tom, Jim, Catherine (Tennessee), Nardine (Heathcote Vic,
Australia), Mary (California), Christoph (Vienna), Eduardo (Colorado),
and Rumi the cat.
We had another great session this past Saturday as
five folks joined us on the teleconference for our fourth Dinner &
A Dead Gal. We may just name this session Questions & Answers
as Rose, once again, opened the floor for questions after a brief
opening. Rather than detail everything I’m going to provide an overview
of the main issues the group explored. Also, you can read the
transcript when it comes out in several weeks for all the gory details.
[I wanted to begin with some personal observations on
how the Rose phenomenon continues to develop for me as I had an
interesting experience in which I observed how much personal
responsibility I take for every answer given by Rose. Is it accurate?
Is it useful? What if she’s leading people astray? Why did she go in
THAT direction, and why didn’t she go in THIS direction? Etcetera.
[Over the three hours I observed that Rose provided
answers based on the group’s collective energy, but also geared to
individuals working through their own issues. So what is deeply
meaningful to one person may not be a huge insight for another, yet
that, in turn, may be a big help to someone with a similar issue reads
the transcript or listens to a Podcast. As that light bulb went off in
my head, I began to relax, let go, and “trust and allow” – as Rose
teaches, to feal into each interaction and sense how people will get
what they need to from Rose’s words. Or not!
[I reminded myself how Vicki Pendley and Mary Ennis,
in particular, struggled in the same way during the early years of the
Elias phenomenon, taking way too much personal responsibility for every
word “Elias said” and learning to “trust and accept” (Elias’ variation)
that people would get out of their interactions what they needed.]
Tom,
who once again brought a dozen pink roses, opened with a question about
the upcoming US presidential election, and Barack Obama got the “Rose
seal of approval” in terms of candidates who would effect change in
line with the shift in consciousness.
[I was pleased to hear that because I believe that
Obama is the best compromise of a candidate who can begin to right the
ruinous course of eight years of the Bush/Cheney Administration (who I
call “the gang who couldn’t shoot straight”). I hope and pray that we
collectively choose to keep Obama and his family safe from the kind of
egocentric malevolence that cut the lives of Martin Luther King, and
the Kennedy brothers short. As always, time will tell.]
Catherine followed up with questions about three dead
squirrels, related “ghost” imagery, and autotyping experiments, which
suggested she “talk to Rose” to verify what’s going on. Rose replied
that “the ghosts are you,” meaning that those subtle energies we sense
about ourselves that seem to originate “outside” of us are actually
“inside” of us, and Aspects of us, so there is no reason to fear them.
In fact, learning to allow them and work with them will help develop
her autotyping abilities.
[I found this to be an interesting development, as
Rose encourages all of us to learn what our best way to channel is,
because this is a direct connection with essence.]
Christoph asked some questions about his fears of aging, and Rose provide a long answer that we used for this session’s Podcast.
[I
also noted the preponderance of fear threads in our group sessions this
Spring and Summer. And while some of them have been challenging, all
have been authentic, real, and useful ways of learning to work within
the limits of fear as an emotion that’s intended to force us into action. According to Rose, that’s its main benefit.
[So it’s not something to deny and repress, but
recognize and address to. It seems to be another thematic trend that
Rose is using to lead into our Halloweany Group Session and One Day Workshop whose theme is: Face Your Fears, Follow Your Intent.]
Mary asked about manipulating her energy centers,
particularly her yellow, and Rose suggested she move the green and pink
down to help soothe or settle it when out of balance. Mary also offered
her impressions for her essence name and Rose applauded her efforts,
but guided her to select an intent name in the mean time.
[Later after Eduardo and Caryn offered some feedback
and impressions on their own intentionality, I had another light bulb
moment in which I better understood why Rose is downplaying essence
names right now and focusing, instead, on intent names.
We are blessed to be part of meshwork through NewWorldView that
connects us with the teachings of Seth, Elias, and Kris, all of whom
regularly provided essence names. I, for example, have received one
from both Elias (Caroll) and Kris (Janaki). But I realized that with
all the work I’ve done with the intent name practice over the last
eleven years I am actually more connected to THAT in terms of my
essence than to my essence names.
[It’s not that one is better than the other, they are
complementary in my view. The essence name becomes a loving bond
between teacher and student that we trace back to Seth, Jane, and Rob.
But the intent name is something that we ultimately come up with
ourSelves. It is NOT given to us by the authority figure, though they
may guide us along the way. When we become our own authority, we become
more powerful conscious creators and co-creators with All-That-Is. This
is why Rose is “being testy” or seemingly contrary with essence names
right now, to help us become our own authorities.
[Moreover, Rose has offered 7-8 essence names
thus far. So I don’t believe she will stop using them all together
because she sometimes refers to us using essence names. Coinkidinkily,
Rose has never given Joanne and I unique essence names. Since her first
appearance she has used those already provided by Elias and Kris, along
with our regular names.]
A visitor from New York City – Jim – brought his
lovely daughter Ella to attend Cal Arts, just down the freeway from us
in Valencia. He asked some questions about the Church he grew up in,
founded by immigrants from Hungary that used mediums to talk to
deceased family and friends. It was a hybrid form of Christianity that
exposed him early to mediumship, hence his interest that led him to
attend a Rose session while in Castaic, CA.
Jim realized that the format used by his childhood
Church was wrapped in the dogmatic, mythic forms of traditional
religion, and thus had limits. Rose confirmed his intuition that our
generation is widening awareness and ready for a new, more
sophisticated version of information that is being presented by the
channelers we study through NewWorldView, including Rose.
George
gave us the cover to his Thin Lizzy album called Black Rose. So that
was more Rose imagery to put on display. During break, we had a
delicious dinner of sausage stew, smoked salmon, veggie dip, mixed
fruit, European bread, sweet rolls, and cheesecake, all washed down by
the usual assortment of beverages and spirits.
George also shared a powerful dream in which a rodent
that was wrapped around his lower right leg was released. He woke up
feeling as though a heavy burden had been lifted! Rose confirmed that
he had “passed a test” in that he was no longer attached to the issue
represented by the rodent, and once George stopped lending energy in
that direction, he simply let it go, and the energy was released.
In other words, he didn’t need to overanalyze the
imagery, instead just go with the fealing tone of letting go totally
within his energy. It’s a more fealing-centered process than a
thought-centered process, something that Rose continues to reinforce in
these group sessions.
The summer sessions have been averaging three hours
with a 20-30 minute break. I have been impressed by the stamina, focus,
and concentration of the group because it takes that kind of energy to
hang with Rose for three hours! Still, last Saturday Rose seemed ready
to go another hour, but we had to cut it short because our scheduled
time to use the phone bridge was up at 7:25 PM.
We said our goodbyes and thank-yous to everyone in
phone land, and how much we appreciated their participation and lending
energy to the Rose forum. People stayed until 10 PM. when Jo and I
turned into pumpkins. As usual, we had some very interesting
conversations based on the session, Rumi got spoiled with attention and
snacks, and Jo continued to give short ten minute Rose readings to
those interested after the session.
Now that it’s September and we’re moving into
conference, workshop, and holiday season, we’ve decided to move to a
three week schedule through the New Year. This will help us catch up on
our transcribing, which is going great guns, for instance, we just
published four new transcripts since Monday, two privates, and two
groups.

Finally, we are looking forward to speaking at the
Colorado Seth Conference next week in Denver. Our next Dinner & A
Dead Gal will be on September 20th, we hope to see you all Zen!
Dinner & A Dead Gal, Session 277
August 16, 2008, 4:41 PM.

Participants: Joanne, Paul, Ursula, George, Sarah,
Tom, Catherine (Tennessee), Nardine (Melbourne, Australia), Cynthia
(Oklahoma), Mary (California), Marcos (New York), Will (California),
Debi (California), and Rumi the cat.
We had another long session this past Saturday as
eight folks joined us on the teleconference for our second Int’l.
Session. We may just name this session Questions & Answers as Rose simply opened the floor for questions after a brief opening in which she coined yet another new word [1] (which is rapidly becoming a signature part of her material).
She coined the word “decine” – a combination of decide and divine as we “decide what our way of Divine intervention will be.” In other words, in what ways do we prefer to communicate directly with essence? [2]
Then she opened the floor to questions and … once
again there was dead silence! To solicit questions, Rose asked us to
define what our favorite things were because our “way of spirit” (or
deciding what way of divine intervention we choose) consists of doing
our favorite things. George, who has attended every group session since
April, humorously suggested that Rose’s tests were among his favorite
things, much to the amusement of everyone!
But that broke the ice, and Rose went on to remind us
that, yes, she will provide tests when we approach her with an attitude
that she’s an infallible source, and take every word as truth with a
capital “T”. Of course, the light bulb went on in my mind as to why
folks have been hesitant to initially ask questions in the last couple
of weeks when Rose opened the floor. They are afraid of being tested!
George should know since he is the first person, beside Joanne and I,
to be tested by Rose. (For the gory details on George’s “Charlie Test,”
see Session 235, April 06, 2008 and Session 239, April 26, 2008).
Marcos
then braved the way and asked a question about his personal direction
since moving to New York City, and wondering if he was on a detour. All
of sudden, there was terrible interference on the phone line! And we
all laughed because many of us knew from experience with Elias and Kris
on phone sessions that sometimes our fear and anxiety get translated
within energy as these kinds of noises. But Rose began to answer him
and things settled down as they almost always do. The gist of her
answer was that he (and we by implication) is always on our path no
matter what we choose, and yet, sometimes we can take detours, and we
will eventually recognize them and address to them.
George asked about some physical symptoms he
experienced during the preceding week that included blurred vision, and
pain in one eye. George intuited that this was an example of “conscious
creation in action,” and Rose suggested that he allowed an essence
communication, seeing things with new eyes and learning to sonter, or
breathe in, essence. She gave him a gold star for being open to the
experience, even though it caused him some anxious moments!
Catherine asked about her Aunt who felt since she was young that she should be named Wendy.
[I noted here that Rose gave her first integral
answer in that she provided two main thrusts of information that spoke
directly to two different worldview systems (AMBER/traditional and
GREEN/postmodern) without marginalizing either!]
First, for her Aunt who is a Southern Baptist and not
aware of this kind of material, Rose suggested that she refer to her
Holy Book (the Bible) for help, since she may believe that her strange
feelings are the work of the Devil.
Rose assured Catherine that this was not the case,
and that in postmodern terms Wendy was a future focus that was bleeding
through her awareness. Unfortunately, the Bible provides no updated
information on future or past lifetimes, so her Aunt has a very narrow
window in which to interpret her “strange feelings,” and yet Rose
didn’t impose an explanation on her that she would not be ready to
understand. As such, she knew that Catherine’s Aunt would find comfort
in her Bible and suggesting that Wendy is an angel.
Catherine then asked about three squirrels that died
outside her home earlier in the summer and their bodies made a kind of
triangle around a tree. What was the message? Rose took an unusual
direction and began with “imaginary ghosts” to represent subtle
energies that are ever-present around us all, and that they are not to
be feared.
[In hindsight, it may have been Rose’s way to help
Catherine to not fear altered states or other unusual energies that may
physically express themselves as the shift progresses. I had several
dreams Sunday and Monday morning about “imaginary ghosts” that I
recorded but have yet to detail in my dream journal. But it’s an
interesting side effect of how an answer to someone else’s question can
influence another person.]
Rose also went into the fear of death (something we all have) and the squirrels helped her deal with that inevitability.
I asked a follow-up to Catherine’s question about
OOBs in the previous D&DG (session 272) to see if she had any
results from trying Rose’s projection technique (transferring conscious
awareness into a dream body while falling asleep). Catherine mentioned
that she had been in work mode since we last spoke and didn’t get any
results.
[Ironically, this piqued my curiosity and I managed to have several lucid dreams Sunday and
Monday mornings using that transference technique. It’s most effective
for me in the 3-6 AM sleep cycles, having already gotten some deep
sleep and allowing my awareness to be more awake as I fall back asleep
after going to the bathroom, or in one case, just changing positions,
waking up and maintaining awareness of the previous dreamscape and as I
fell back in, transferring awareness into a lucid dream body. Cool
stuff!]
Next,
Tom asked a great question based on Rose’s opening riff. He asked what
her definition of Divine is. Rose offered a long explanation, and I
asked a couple of follow up questions that further expanded things. The
fifteen minute exchange became this week’s Podcast and you can
listen to it by clicking on the icon. (We publish a Podcast of a pithy
Rose excerpt every Monday after a group session. You will also find
this icon in the transcripts now.)
This exchange took us to our break at 5:49 PM. Jo and
I talked on the phone line for a bit and answered questions while
munching on dinner. Dinner consisted of havarti-dill cheese and
crackers, sliced pork sausages, ham with bread, a peanut noodle dish,
pasta salad, and mixed fruit all washed down with the usual assortment
of wines, water, and iced-tea.
We
resumed at 6:17 PM. The second half started with George’s daughter,
Sarah, resting-ON-Rose, as he joked. She was snuggled up to JoRose and
listened as the group engaged the second half.
Rose explained that the way of spirit allows our
sensory experience to bring us satisfaction along with realization of
essence in our days, a poetic description of learning to realize more
deeply how essence communicates in various ways that include our
sensory experiences.
Rather than detail the second half, I’ll just add
some highlights, because the whole session will be available as a
transcript in a couple of weeks thanks to Nardine in Australia!
Marcos mentioned dreams with deep sadness, longing,
and melancholy over the years, but over time he’s come to realize that
there is deep fulfillment via essence. Rose mentioned that suffering is
part of what makes us human, and there’s even a beauty to it at times.
The way of spirit calls on us to suffer sometimes, but again, the point
is to learn to avoid and end suffering in all cases.
[In other words, there’s nothing overtly spiritual
about suffering, and it doesn’t make us more spiritual because we have
a cross to bear. That’s a leftover from the traditional worldview value
system – that suffering makes us closer to God – but our postmodern
worldview understands that suffering may lead to great fulfillment only
once we understand how we create it, learn to take full responsibility
for all our creations, good and bad.]
Marcos also said he came to further understand Seth’s
idea of value fulfillment more deeply in that it allows for great
suffering, but focuses on fun, joy, and pleasure.
[Marcos is right on target. We need to include the shadows and
the light, and not repress them because they’ll always come back to
bite us in the ass big time! Only through learning about the nature of
suffering through our own foibles, mistakes, and detours do we come to
understand how we create the good and bad, darkness and the
light, pleasure and pain. Only then can we bring deeper awareness and
acceptance to our joy and suffering as they never go away.
Marginalizing or repressing the bad with New Age “feel good,” “in the
light,” etc., kind of sentiments only makes our suffering that much
worse.]
George mentioned that Elias describes his energy as being represented
by blue dots or blue imagery. So then, “what color is Rose?” Rose said
that we connect with her energy when we feel good, senxy, in subjective
ways, and with our mirth (deep sense of humor and joy)! She also
communicates through birds.
Rose emphasized that we connect with her in a
fealing-tone that is blissful. I pointed out that I do experience
Elias’ energy as blue dots mostly, but that I experience Rose’s energy
as a blanket of pink and sometimes magenta that just permeates my
awareness during meditation or resting-in-Rose (a kind of savikalpa or
subtle realm samadhi).
Rose confirmed that this was indeed one way to
experience her energy, but that it was still included in the more
general definition she gave previously. In other words, she doesn’t
want people to identify her fealing-tone with only a color.
I also mentioned that Elias associated Rose as a Sumafi essence representing Borledim in his game that
taught us about interpreting impressions (another form of essence
communication). So I’ve had a pink color associated with her energy for
eleven years now, and while that may be a self-fulfilling
manifestation, it still is how I create a color exchange with Rose’s
energy (I have also begun dreaming of her as a wise woman archetype in
the past year).
Mary asked Rose to provide her with an essence family belonging-to and aligning-with,
and Rose suggested they read the information on our websites to get
impressions. When I told Mary I’d send her the links after the session
by email, she said she had already read them! So I asked her what her
impressions were, and she mostly strongly identified with Sumari, and a
little bit with Vold. My immediate impression was that she was a double
Sumari (who by definition tend to reject ALL typologies by nature as
Seth pointed out in the original information, which I find humorous and
ironic!).
Rose confirmed then that she was indeed a double
Sumari (just like Jane Roberts, so she’s in good company!) I also
thought it no accident that Mary lived in a progressive, artistic city
like San Francisco! Too funny, and interesting that Rose tested her, by
not giving her any info right off the bat, but only after Mary offered
her own impressions. Then Rose was right there to clarify them.
The session ended at 7:27 PM, close to two and half
hours once again! Nardine said she’d work on the transcript right away
so that we can publish in the next week or so, and make it available as
more folks are getting interested in the Rose sessions.
Also,
Sarah had fallen asleep on Joanne’s shoulder during the second half. It
was very cute and I was pleased that she was comfy enough with JoRose’s
energy to sleep soundly. When she woke up, her father, George, teased
her that she had been snoring and drooling, much to her chagrin! But we
all quickly chimed in a reassured her that she slept more like an angel
than anything else. We do enjoy the presence of child at our sessions!
Finally, Tom brought a dozen lovely red roses. I put
them in a vase next to JoRose, and they were a nice addition to our
décor. We sat around with full bellies, and discussed the session and
other topics until around 9:30 PM. when Jo and I turned into pumpkins.
Our company left us until the next Dinner & A Dead Gal on Labor Day
weekend.
Endnotes
[1] Paul’s note: For more info on Rose’s new words, see The Rose Glossary.
[2] Paul’s note: Elias has provided detailed information on how
essence (subjective awareness) communicates directly with us (objective
awareness). Rose has begun by helping people connect with their intent
and purpose, since that foundation helps people communicate more directly
with essence. For example, since we each have a unique intent and
purpose in life, we will tend to emphasize certain avenues of
communication over others. Someone may be a natural lucid dreamer, or
get information in reverie via imagination, or learn to read their
emotions to great detail, use muscle testing, pendulums, Ouija boards,
autotype, voice channel and on and on. So it is now clearer that Rose
is building off of Elias’ information as well, but with her unique
approach.
Thus far, Elias has included dream imagery, emotions, physical senses (vision, hearing, taste, touch, and smell), inner senses (empathic, conceptual, differential time), impulses, impressions, physical body expressions (symptoms of dis-ease), language, intuitions (another term for inner senses and dreams), and imagination
as avenues of essence communication. In other words, learning to master
these avenues will help us connect more directly with our essence, and
when coupled with knowing fully our intent and purpose in life, to
better follow our way of spirit and live more fulfilled lives. For more
info, see Digests: avenues of communication.
Dinner & A Dead Gal, Session 272
August 2, 2008, 4:45 PM.
Participants:
Joanne, Paul, Ursula, George, Frieda (Pennsylvania), Joe (Colorado),
Catherine (Tennessee), Rodney (New Jersey), Arianna & Sue (Alberta,
Canada), Tom (New Jersey), Nardine (Melbourne, Australia), Cynthia
(Oklahoma), and Rumi the cat.
We continued to prototype our conference phone
capabilities, and nine people from three countries joined the fun,
making it our first international session! Thanks to all who
participated, the energy was really great, and you helped us refine our
high-tech setup (which includes a video camera, audio recorder, and
Klingon space pod… err conference phone :-).
The session lasted 2:25 with a twenty minute dinner
break. After an introductory riff on facing our fears with love, Rose
moved into the practice of sontering.
Sontering is one of Rose’s made-up words, but she explains the practice
as an action of concentrating on the breath to imagine we’re breathing
in essence, which is omnipresent. The idea is to let go of thoughts,
and concentrate on the fealing tone of essence, and that merging with
essence can feal like sex!
Now who can resist that kind of carrot in trying out
the sontering practice?! Rose claims that when we sonter our essence
(like our God of Self as in Jane Roberts’s God of Jane concept), then we feal blissful, and experience beyond
our thoughts. This is not a kind of repression or denial of problems
and challenges, but a relaxing of the outer egoic self in a mergence
with our inner ego, an Aspect of essence. The result is a widening of awareness and blissful fealings.
Rose opened the floor to questions, and there were
none. So Rose seeded the questions by asking, “Who makes the decisions?
Ego or essence? There were still no takers, so Rose continued without
skipping a beat and introduced a new word, fone, as a play on phone and feel.
The idea is to “fone home,” like E.T., but to connect with essence. I
marveled at how Rose continued to come up with variations of “All Roads
Lead to Essence” – to the God of Paul, the God of Joanne, and the God
of You!
[This reflects Rose’s stated bottom line – to help us connect directly with essence. And it is quite a challenge!]
Rodney
then broke the ice, and asked a question about not yet being cognizant
of essence speaking directly to him, and yet he experiences a “blanked
out” state sometimes when in the bathroom. Rose mentioned that his was
an efficient way to be in the world, and said it was similar to what
she calls resting-in-Rose – a type of subtle realm samadhi (meditative concentration or absorption).
Joe asked some questions, and tried to corner Rose by
first asking if she answered yes/no questions, to which she answered,
“Yes.” Joe then asked if he had channeled an essence named David during
a certain experience, and Rose gave him a longer answer than a simple
yes or no. Joe is exploring trance channeling and was wondering if this
David essence would be the one?
Rose tried to steer him into the area of exploring
conscious channeling by recommending autotyping, which she does to many
individuals that she talks to. But Joe expressed his interest was more
in trance channeling, and Rose didn’t provide any further specifics,
except that the autotyping suggestion may have provided Joe the
practice to become a trance channeler, as Jo (who is a conscious
channeler) may be in time. Rose may also have been testing him.
[Rose’s “tests” are new for people who may be used to
Kris, Elias, or other channelers who don’t teach the same way as Rose.
So they take some getting used. For example, Elias and Kris will speak
cryptically or in vague generalizations sometimes, but in the end their
advice is meant to help us focus on and address our issues.]
Joe also asked about using his present self to become
another focus of attention in another dimension, and Rose suggested
that he as essence is always in other dimensions, that he visits other
dimensions in his dream state every night, and that he, as focus, needs
only to remember.
Cynthia asked about her intent, and wanting to help
herself and others by facilitating the shift. Rose told her that her
belonging-to and aligning-with from Elias were reversed, that she
belonged-to Tumold, and aligned-with Sumafi. I suspect this was a test,
in that it was a way to break out of the assumption that Elias’
readings of our intents are Absolutes.
[Rose
can be a bit of a trickster, and it keeps us all off-balance. So when
Cynthia later asked me during break what I thought, I stated that I
still lean in the direction of the accuracy of Elias’ readings, but
Rose is simply attempting to help break out of the simple box of a
two-pack reading and that’s that.]
Rose mentioned that we all have a sense of what our
innate intents are – what we do naturally and well in all phases of our
lives – and what we call it isn’t as important as living it and putting
it to work for us in our everyday lives, jobs, relationships, hobbies,
and other activities that we find satisfying.
We took a break at 5:41 PM. I talked with Rodney
about sontering, and with Cynthia about Rose’s purpose for
contradicting Elias’ intent readings. I mentioned Kris’ six-pack as
another example of a different perspective, and how that confused a lot
of Elias folks who take his word as literal gospel, and that this is
what Rose is doing – trying to break us free from the habit of taking
various essence’s readings too literally. There was more, of course,
but that will come out in the transcript.
When we resumed at 6:08 PM, Rose explained a little more on sontering, so I included all those bits on this week’s Podcast.
[I find it to be a quite beautiful variation on the
theme of learning how to meditate, change focus, change state into the
subtle realm and connect directly with essence.]
I then asked about George’s test, from sessions 235 and 239,
as during the previous week George was finally able to call his mentor,
Charlie, and verified that he was still alive, though he was engaging
the action of transition. Rose claimed that she had tapped into Charlie’s energy deposit, and that an Aspect of Charlie had been translated through Joanne in the original session.
George also mentioned during break that during that
original interaction with Rose/Charlie, Joanne sounded and acted like
Charlie, which is why he was so confused when all the details given
during that reading turned out to be, what I called “crap.”
[In hindsight, I admit that I was quite contrary in
my questioning, having been the butt of several of Rose’s tests, and
even a bit on the frustrated side. I don’t like tests! But this is why
Rose gives them, to force us to see things from a different angle, and
it’s not always easy or pretty. However, in the long run, I can attest
to their constructive nature, as George stated after the session that
he has gotten a lot out of his attendance at our Rose sessions since
April. He keeps coming back, and he gets value, so that is why I say
Rose’s tests ARE constructive, even though they may be difficult to
digest initially.
[I
also believe this may be why some new folks are afraid to ask
questions, realizing that once they directly engage Rose, there are
going to be challenges involved that require courage to face and
process. How many are really ready to face and overcome their fears?]
Next, Cynthia asked about who chooses our intent, and
Rose pointed out that both the focus and essence are involved as
they’re really not separate things at all – they are cleverly nested
structures within our awareness. Essence is always with us, always
loving, always involved with our creations. Rose mentioned that she was
only providing intent readings as “orienting generalizations” to
ballpark us so we can go even further with the essence family information, and not get too literal or stuck with it.
I asked a follow up question about the subdivisions or subfamilies,
suggesting that within the nine main ones, there are over 362,000
possible permutations for subfamilies, and that allowed a lot of room
for more specific hybrids and variations of intent than just the main
nine. For instance, Sue Watkins understood this part of the original
information discussed by Seth in Jane Roberts’s ESP class. And we have
gotten 7-8 in the Elias forum, so I wondered if that was the direction
that Rose was going?
Rose replied that she was going to stay in the
general area of the nine main ones for now. She also mentioned that
when she gives the number of focuses, she will use general numbers like
500 as an “orienting generalization” for anywhere between 175 and 1075.
[Elias,
as we know, is very specific, but in either case, we have no way to
confirm or deny their veracity. We simply cannot yet “see” from our
essence’s perspective, so I believe we have to take this metaphysical
information with a large grain of salt, especially when the validity
claim is: are they telling the truth to the best of their ability? With
Rose and Elias, I would say the answer is a firm “Yes,” but they make
different choices based on different teaching styles and intents. In
this way, I think it’s crucial not to get hung up in surface level
differences, but to seek the subtext – each has their own way to help
us out.
[For instance, Elias’ stated agenda is to help reduce
the trauma of the shift. Rose’s agenda is to help us connect directly
with essence. One could surmise that Rose’s agenda would lessen the
trauma of shifting, and vice versa, that Elias’ would help us widen
awareness to connect more directly with essence. So this is part of
learning to adequately discern and interpret various channeled sources’
meanings. They are easy to distort, since we all perceive them from our
own unique developmental stages.]
Ursula then asked a question about her intent name,
as she’s been wrestling with creating one. Rose told her she
belonged-to Milumet and aligned-with Tumold to help ballpark her
continued explorations.
George asked about Charlie again, and what his choice
for a next focus might be, and Rose went in yet another contrary
direction by saying that George was grappling with a fear of death,
fear of annihilation in terms of his own death. In the end Rose gave
George one of her “gold stars” for following up on a specific area that
Rose wanted to clarify and at the same time was in a specific area of
interest for George. She gave George a hook to get more information,
and George picked up on that and asked the question.
Joe asked a follow up question about his quest to
manifest in another dimension as this focus, and Rose again suggested
that he does that as essence, not as a focus, so by connecting with
essence that would become clearer.
Catherine
asked for some tips on OOBs and Rose provided a simple practice of
meditating, resting-in-Rose, and then imagining herself in her dream
body, imagining her body getting up and moving around.
[I know from experience, that if you can maintain
awareness as you change state, fall asleep WITH awareness, you will
transition right into the first dream body (Seth talks of three main
dream bodies, with the last one transitioning into the formless domain
of the causal).]
We ended the session at 7:05 PM, and continued to
chat for a couple of hours with George and Ursula on our deck, as it
had cooled off nicely, and the sunset turned into dusk, and then
darkness. We ended our evening together around 9:15.
Dinner & A Dead Gal, Session 269
July 19, 2008, 4:38 PM.
Participants: Joanne, Paul, Ursula, Caryn, Tom, Mike,
Cat, George, Bob, Joyce, Frieda (Pennsylvania), Eric (Pennsylvania),
and Will (California).
Newsflash:
We officially changed the name of our Rose Potluck Dinners! Now that we
have a better sense of Rose’s direction and style, it seemed
appropriate to resurrect the name that expressed our irreverent and fun
approach to exploring the unknown reality. Since our raison d’etre is
to share food, drink, and conversation, we also expanded the tagline to
include the “you” who never dies, yet creates 100% of its
reality....
People arrived with their usual assortment of food
and beverage for the potluck. But Tom, a new comer, appeared with
a dozen long stem lavender roses that complemented the event They were
absolutely gorgeous! We also continued to prototype our conference
phone capabilities, and three folks called in to help out on that
front. Our new phone system, which looks like a Klingon shuttle craft,
passed with flying colors. It works great with cell phones and land
lines. The experiment worked so well that we are going to offer a free
call on August 2nd for anyone interested in joining us! Just send us an
email to register for the 4:30 PM Pacific Time teleconference, and we
will send you info the Friday before the session (an access code and
phone number. The session is free, but you will incur the cost of a
long distance phone call).
Rose spoke for just over 2.5 hours, so it was another
marathon that covered a lot of ground and developed many of her new
ideas. Joanne had a little tummy ache before the session, so Rose
opened with riff on physical communications via body symptoms as an
expression of the contrary self. In other words, shit happens for our
best intentions! This led into a question about the nature of the
contrary self and ego, and Rose delivered a lot of material on the ego
and essence in relation to the contrary self. I compared ego to what
Elias calls objective awareness and essence to what he calls subjective
awareness to help connect the dots, and Rose said that I was in the
ballpark.
[The contrary self is a new concept that Rose
continues to develop, and the simplest way I conceptualize it is as my
“common sense self.” That is, there are times when common sense
dictates breaking the rules and being contrary, for example, not coming
to a complete stop at a stop sign or screaming out your window that
you’ve had enough and you’re not going to take it anymore! The bottom
line is that the contrary self’s function is to help us realize our way
of spirit, which always leads to our greatest fulfillment and that of
others.

Also, Rose has been hammering away at the fact that
outer ego (objective awareness) doesn’t call all the shots, doesn’t
create 100% of our reality, because essence (subjective) is very
involved, as are other Aspects of All-That-Is. This is contrary the
popular New Age belief that thoughts create reality, they don’t.
Thoughts are a translation mechanism meant to properly access over all
life conditions and communicate them to essence, which in turn,
instantly provides us with what we’re concentrating on (misery or
bliss). So when we don’t accurately assess or translate what’s going on
around and inside us, we run into problems.
The issue of free will came up and George wondered
just how did essence intent color each focus? Rose said it colors a
lot, but ego doesn’t call all the shots. It works in concert
with essence intent. So when ego understands its essence intent, it
will find its way of spirit, which will lead to its greatest
fulfillment.

[This is also where the “veto power of essence”
factors in. This is my own term based on the second Oversoul Seven book
when one of the main characters, Joseph the painter in 17th
century Netherlands, runs away in a drunken stupor due to a panic
attack at the birth of his first child. He passes out on a mountain
side and is about to freeze to death because his in-laws, who are
searching for him, can’t find him. Oversoul Seven comes to the rescue
and levitates Joseph’s body down the hill a mile or two to a place
where he will be saved.
[This is a fictional example, but if explored in
Framework 1 terms, would a bystander observe Joseph’s body floating
down the hill, or would it instantly disappear and reappear in the new
place? Just speculating, but my point is that Joseph, his outer ego,
sure didn’t have ANY say in that creation of his reality, but his inner
ego, Seven sure did. This “veto power of essence” shows that there is
much more than outer ego at work in reality creation.
[Put another way, how many people, as outer egos,
actively, consciously participate fully in their deaths? How many
people know that they are about to die and willfully engage the actions
necessary to create that? Not many in this period of history! Essence,
more often than not, is directly involved in the time and place of each focus’s physical death.
[Another
way to conceptualize this “veto power of essence” is the Christian
parable of “Footsteps in the Sand.” A person who is looking back over
their life asks God why he abandoned them during the worst moments of
their life, the moments when there appeared to be only one set of
footprints in the sand? God (guardian angel, essence, etc.) responds,
“Those were the times that I carried you, so you were NEVER alone.”
This is similar to what Rose has been trying to point
out recently, that there is much more than outer ego involved in
reality creation. The down side is that poor old outer ego begins to
deflate, after all, didn’t Seth, Elias, Kris, etc. all tell us that we
are gods-in-training, learning to co-create within All-That-Is? Well of
course, but it’s not the outer ego that is in 100% control, and that’s
a tough pill to swallow if you’ve used the material to create beliefs
in the permanence and god-like powers of the outer ego. This is not the
case; that is an egocentric perspective at best and narcissism at worst.
The good news, however, is that outer ego is of
critical importance in the overall structure of All-That-Is. I used the
example of Elias’ primary and observing essences.
The former is the directing essence of every focus, the later simply
merges and witnesses, sharing experiences. In other words, essence is
so desirous of physical experience it will merge, observe, and hitch a
ride with an outer ego. So both structures are highly desirable!
Rose agreed with this and mentioned that we should
hold a deep appreciation for ourselves as physical and spiritual
beings. All these structures work together to create 100% of our
reality, and this is why she’s going in this direction.
Rose
also mentioned trans-ascendance and trans-descendance – the two main
“currents” in reality creation. The former is a more masculine energy
(Yang/Eros) that attempts to transcend the physical (this is where
various anti-ego stances come from, the attempt to make all movement
towards The One primary). The latter is a more feminine energy
(Yin/Agape) that attempts to descend or birth as much of inner ego as
possible into physical constructions (this is where various “pagan
immersion” stances come from, the attempt to make movement to The Many
primary). Rose said they work in harmony, but can be out of balance
when one is emphasized over the other.
This led me to bring up Eckhart Tolle’s work (Power of the Now, and A New Earth) and his virulent, anti-outer ego stance. For instance, he equates ALL outer ego with pathology,
and in my view that’s an extreme produced by “sinful self” beliefs
found in traditional religious teachings that have influenced the
interpretations of his powerful altered states of Oneness. As such, the
outer ego is considered inferior and something to annihilate, destroy,
and get away from as soon as possible. But the confusion lies in
misunderstanding how stages of development work in terms of outer ego’s
widening. There will always be some kind of egoic structure present,
it’s more a question of how wide it becomes, how many perspectives it
can hold, and how it can learn to work to the benefit of all others.
Therefore, outer ego is really, really important and
will never go away. Still, to Eckhart’s credit, he’s pointing toward an
outer egoic structure that is more aware, more alive, more present,
more understanding of its relationship to others and The One. So there
are some very beautiful and useful parts of his teachings.
We broke at 5:35 PM. and said goodbye to Eric and
Frieda in Pennsylvania who were helping us test the new conference
phone. We then had a dinner of stuffed grape leaves, couscous salad,
nachos and red/green salsa, shrimp with pineapple and cocktails sauces,
and cashew cookies, cherry coffee cake for dessert. All were washed
down with the usual assortment of wines, beers, and iced-tea!
We reconvened at 6:04 PM. and Rose queried the group,
“As ego selves what is your view of essence?” Mike mentioned that he
wanted to trans-descend as much as possible in this lifetime. Rose went
into a riff on the concept of wrath that I didn’t totally
understand, but it had to do with understanding the outer ego’s role
within the larger structure of All-That-Is in a bountiful, plentiful
way. Rose told us to “imagine your ego in wrathful bliss with essence.”
Rose then reinforced once again the importance of balancing both
energetic currents.
I
brought up the notion of surrendering, as outer ego, to that which is
greater than my ego. Rose mentioned that this action emphasizes our feminine
aspects, which I had never realized before but was obvious once she
pointed it out! On the other hand, the act of surrender is something
men in our culture are taught to do only as a last resort. I jokingly
thought of the movie “Galaxy Quest,” where their motto was “Never Give
Up, Never Surrender!”
Bob mentioned that doing the opposite of where our
ego is headed can result in solving problems, to which Rose agreed and
replied, “Get the hell out of your own way and allow great things to
happen!”
[In all cases, it’s really a balancing act between
these ascending (masculine) and descending (feminine) energies, and the
ego (objective) and essence (subjective) aspects of our being.]
Tom asked a question about ego in relation to all our
focuses from the essence perspective and Rose introduced the concept of
superego (which is different from Freud’s id, ego, superego) to attempt
to connect the dots.
I
asked a question about the four basic structures that Rose discussed in
this session – outer ego, inner ego, superego, and the contrary self –
and attempted to get some clarity on how they all function. I’ll have
to wait for the transcript to get a better sense since so much of this
is new material.
We ended at 7:39 PM. and said goodbye to Will who
made it through the whole three hours on the phone from San Jose
(thanks Will!). George presented Joanne with a lovely Thank-you drawing
his daughter Sarah made for the surprise strawberry chocolate pie
Joanne made for her 12th birthday the previous session. We broke off into groups and chatted away until 10 PM. when Jo and I turned into pumpkins.
Also, we would like to remind everyone that there is
a free MP3 Podcast of an excerpt from every group session that is
published every Monday (or thereabouts). Here's a link to this week's
Podcast: On the Nature of Rose.
Finally, we are in the midst of transcribing and publishing all the group sessions, so be sure to check the essence-of-rose.com
website for all those goodies. We welcome your feedback if you find any
mistakes in the transcripts or if you participated and wish to include
an endnote to clarify something you said, etc. Thanks!
