In recent weeks, we had a discussion on Sethnet about the environment and global warming, somewhere along the way Bill Ingle suggested that I consult Gycen (my non-physical entity friend) to get his perspective on the issue. Here is what Gycen had to say:

Gycen on Global Warming: A Channeling Session
by John McNally

What is the reality of global warming? What a silly question, it's the one you create of course! Whenever you find yourself faced with conflicting data in your daily experience, it's because you are choosing between probabilities.

To understand the reality of global warming, you must first understand a little of the reality of the Earth itself. This will be the briefest of summaries, and I am generalizing here for the sake of convenience so do not take what is written here as being etched in stone.

The Earth, like you is a conscious entity, one who is well aware of all the life forms on it's surface, and it regularly shifts it's energy in an effort to balance all those forms. The Earth has a much greater multidimensional awareness of itself, and will often move water, land and even species across probable divides as it balances various aspects of itself.

When you (John) have tuned into trees, you sensed that they did not experience linear time as you do. This is true for the Earth as well, and it easily perceives the long term results of mankind's activities, and makes it's own choices and adjustments accordingly. The knowledge of these adjustments is shared telepathically with all creatures on the planet, including man. Every event, from the largest earthquake to the smallest April shower, is known about in advance, and is participated in willingly by those who experience it. You already know this consciously of course, but when 'tragedy strikes' you tend to jump into the drama emotionally and sacrifice that level of awareness.

For those who carry the belief that mankind is only harming the Earth every minute of every day, they are sorely limited in their viewpoints, and are deliberately blinding themselves to a more balanced perspective. Most often, it is because they do not understand either their own natural creativity or that of the planet itself. They will argue that the planet would be best if we left it undisturbed, however if that was what the Earth wanted, you would have disappeared from it's surface centuries ago.

For those who believe that mankind is only harmful, they should be grateful that the consciousness of the Earth is not the precocious, childish sort of personality which was often placed on your gods. The Earth is of course far more rich and complex, and well beyond the duality of male/female, and the role of Mother (or father). These are common anthropomorphisms and misinterpretations by those who try to understand this great being in a more familiar way.

For example, it senses, as your own statisticians do that the world population is growing; and in response to this growth the Earth expands it's girth and raises it's temperature ever so slightly. In most probabilities, there will in fact be more and greener farmland on the planet than there is right now. In these probabilities, Arctic ice will retreat, but not completely disappear, nor will the Antarctic ice sheets fully melt.

The polar ice caps have never been static, and you are only just starting to become aware of their natural mini-cycles. Human beings are not the only animals who create pollution, and the process of freezing and melting over the centuries helps in the filtering and cleansing of the planetary water. You might be surprised to learn that even during the most intense Ice Ages on your planet, there have been times where open water has flowed at or near the poles for several years at a time.

I will tell you now, to satisfy your own curiosity that concerning the global climate, there are three major paths of probability which you are currently on. On two of these paths, you will experience a slight rise in the global mean temperature, however it will never come near the hysteria that is being promoted even by your more 'respectable' scientists. On the third path, the temperature will spike more quickly, due to the influence of several naturally occurring events, but then there will be a rather sharp correction as well.

On the most likely probable path, the one that you (John) are guided towards right now, nothing in the way of 'major earth changes' happens over the next century on your planet. There will be some warming, and the benefits of this will be realized when mankind adapts. Coastlines will erode as they always have, and in some areas people will need to move away, but they will not be washed away unless they are too stubborn to acknowledge when the water is washing over their feet!

There will still be hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, volcanoes and low lying areas will periodically be flooded, and people will continue to die when they live in these areas. And people will continue to choose to live in these areas, as they always have, and they're inner selves will know with certainty when storms and tsunamis are coming, and some will step aside to drier ground, while others will rush headlong to be in their path.

However, there will be no major re-structuring of the continents, all the various maps that are being produced are metaphorical in nature and not physical. You are at a crux of many probable paths, a rather intense one similar in nature to the early 20th century in your history. Imagine yourself poised at the edge of a diving board ready to jump. There are those in the mass consciousness who are so afraid to jump that they want to turn around and go back down the ladder. Many will eventually overcome this fear, but this process will take 'time' from your waking perspective. In the grand drama of your daily lives, it seems as if the events of the world are grinding too slowly or even backwards at times.

In the second, less likely path you will experience some of the drama of global warming, including a dramatic melting of the ice caps and a loss of some coastline areas. Even in this scenario, nothing is as dire as many are making it out to be. For example, the North American continent will still look essentially the same from space.

There are considerably more storms on this path, and physical wars on your planet to match. In the United States, there is a near-civil war as religious vs. secular forces reach a crisis point. There are pockets of violence, but not all out war because in this reality it suddenly becomes abundantly clear that there are far fewer religious zealots in the United States than more rationally minded people.

In Europe, there is a split between old Europe, those countries which have existed for centuries, and the 'new.' Those countries which have been emerging since the end of the Soviet empire. Some of this split is along religious lines, mirroring the secular vs. zealotism the United States experiences. A second Union is attempted by these newer states, however it does not hold together very long.

In both these paths, you will see the ultimate demise of religious zealotism as a political power in your reality. In the second scenario, it goes kicking and screaming into that good night, creating the weather events as well. By 2030, more moderate minds are in control of all the major governments on your planet. It is far from perfect, but the beginnings of a unified vision for a healthy future develops.

In the third and least likely probable future, you experience a very sudden ice age, as a handful of researchers have indicated. In some cities around the world, entire populations are lost, literally frozen over in a matter of hours. A full third of the human population is killed within weeks, and there will be a continued die off for several years to come.

In this new world, most governments have collapsed. The onset will be far too fast for the infrastructures to adapt. Even those in tropical areas are so dependent on global support, that once the full effects of the new Ice Age are felt, their economies fall apart. It shouldn't be too hard to see what beliefs lead to this extreme, here's a hint, you can't spell frigid without 'rigid.' Rigid, unyielding beliefs lead one down to survival modes, in which only the most limited thought patterns are given creative power. In this world, survival is the only issue, and this portion of human energy takes a step backward to re-evaluate itself as it slowly grows to repopulate the Earth again.

In case you're wondering how likely these probabilities are, the first one is 90% likely to occur in your current experience, the second 9.99% and the final scenario .01%. There are of course many variations of events within these scenarios, particularly the first one which has the most potential for positive growth in the world.

Remember that you specifically asked about Global Warming for this session, thus I did not touch on your technological or spiritual futures, there are of course some interesting paths ahead and I will gladly comment on those in future sessions.

The easiest way to navigate probabilities is to maintain an open and flexible perspective in all situations. When fear and doubt dominate your thought patterns, you automatically close down those unseen paths that might offer solutions. You must let yourself feel that a solution exists, even if there's no indication of it. If you can say with certainty about any situation, that you believe a 'solution will come up' then you have already opened that door for a better opportunity to manifest.

I will leave you now, to explore the vast dimensions of your physical life. Smile.

Thank you Gycen

Riding the Wave
by Donald R. Johnson

Glorious tones greet me tonight
Life-affirming echoes from the past
A communication from an energetic self
Notes that lift me up on a wave of feeling
The Wizard is coming through very well
He thinks he's calling for my help
But the carrier wave has the raw power
That I had forgotten about in my senility

At one time I dreamed of cities of light
And hoped to find myself there
I pictured myself riding on the waves of thought
I looked for the wisdom that would help
Now I've got the wisdom in my mind
But I lost the energy along the way
Don't tell the questing youth about it
Maybe I can point him in a different way

Elemental forces to call upon at will
Take a turn just over here, my son
Study the runes and ignore all else
And don't give in, don't settle for less
Direct your gaze towards the sky
See your own eye looking back at you
Set your course for the final frontier
There's an Innerverse awaiting your arrival

I'll sit here and dream of your successes
Maybe I'll even write about your adventures
But one day I'll settle my affairs here in this body
And I'll follow you through that inviting door

Beliefs as Tools or The Santa Theory
by George Garner

Let me pose a silly question. Would you dig a ditch with a spoon, use a hammer to paint, or wash your hair in a washing machine? Not too likely, although it could be done with much effort and stress. But it wouldn't be the most efficient method.

As the human species, we have developed many tools, from the simplest to the complex. Why have we done this? We apply these tools to help us do work, play, and entertain. So essentially, we use tools to create. And we've come a long way in this development of tools for creation; witness the medium used to read this.

Now what about our experiences, our realities? We all know we create our own realities. So what tools are being employed to do this? Beliefs, of course.

The Seth material stresses the concept that we create our own realities through our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. To change our experiences, all we have to do is change our beliefs -- find out what they are and change them. And it is generally taken for granted that the old belief is gone or destroyed. That is, it no longer affects or influences us (if we did a good job on our belief work, that is ) and so we believe it's gone. However, I think those beliefs are still with us; we just no longer hold onto or activate them.

What we have really done is recognize and accept those beliefs as JUST beliefs, as something we once believed in as fact or truth. The Elias material mentions this idea of accepting one's beliefs as just beliefs about reality -- a specific perception about reality, a lens, so to speak. Once beliefs are recognized, accept them for what they are. If we accept them fully they will no longer hold influence in our reality, unless we choose for them to do so. At this point, we can look at them and see that them for JUST what they are, JUST a belief... fundamentally, a tool that automatically creates a specific kind of reality for us. Like any belief, it is a tool for a reality creating purpose.

So here we have two methods of dealing with beliefs to alter one's reality, Seth’s and Elias's -- and they both involve choice. Now let's combine these two methods and look at beliefs as the tools we use to create our realities. The same basic principles apply -- ferret out the beliefs and then treat them as tools. Use or choose the proper tool to create what you desire in the easiest and most beneficial manner. Look at your belief and determine whether or not you are digging a ditch with a spoon.

Now you may discover that you've always used a spoon to dig your ditches. It seemed such a natural thing that you hadn't noticed the effort and stress you were creating at the same time. To you, this was the way it has always been done -- and there you have an example of an unexamined core belief.

Here is an example of what I've been saying. As a child, most of us believed in Santa Claus and the whole related story -- really fell for it, hook, line and sinker, right? Then comes the time, as you grow older, where you start doubting that 'Santa' reality -- reasoning takes over the magical. Some sort of struggle ensues during the belief change resulting in you no longer believing in Santa Claus adulthood, at least, not in the same way as you did as a child. Now, the question: Have you actually changed that belief, or eliminated it? I say no; that belief is still with you. However, it no longer affects you as it once did. So what you have basically done is recognize that Santa belief and accepted it as just a belief, a belief for children, a belief for Christmas. The reason I say it is an 'accepted' belief is as follows.

NOW - as an adult, you conveniently USE that belief in Santa as a TOOL. You consciously choose to apply that belief to create a reality for your children and yourself. Yes, you feel you are pretending - AND THAT IS EXACTLY IT! We all pretend. Every one of our beliefs is something we are pretending is real.

You could also consider your beliefs to be like musical instruments. You play them and create a spectacular reality. Or beliefs as a musical composition, each chord, harmonic and/or discordant, a specific instrument, creating one's reality, with the tension and release that makes life so interesting.

Or for a painter, the type of brush and color/tint of paint blending into a unified picture of one's beliefs. As creative artists, such as we all are, in creating our very own realities, the tools we use can be within our conscious control rather than set on automatic. And sometimes we don't realize which tools we are using until our experiences tell us so.

Changing the whole perspective of just having beliefs as a part of who you are, to a more dynamic concept of consciously choosing and using specific beliefs, gives a much nicer feel to your creating. It puts you in the driver's seat of your own conscious choosing. It puts you at the piano, not the automatic player piano.

What is it about beliefs that they have such a hold on us, that we become so attached to them, that they can even appear invisible? Have we been using the same tool so often that we think (believe) it is a part of our self? Certainly we can change our beliefs about beliefs, right? For instance, I have a Sethian belief about beliefs -- now I could also have a belief about this Sethian belief about beliefs. Beliefs are generally nested.

Can we learn how to don new beliefs as easily as we change the clothes we wear? Have you ever dressed up so differently that you almost feel that you have a new set of beliefs, that you act differently, etc? Play with it!

The main point is that beliefs are just beliefs. They are creative tools that are powered by our thoughts and emotions in creating our realities/experiences -- as simple as plugging in the correct power tool for the job. Since we all create our own beliefs, how much effort and energy is involved in creating a specific belief for the experience you desire?

All of our beliefs are tools that are used to create the reality we each experience. The question that now appears obvious to me is why are we letting the tools control us -- why don't we just take control of these tools and use whatever belief we require to create the specific reality we want to experience? Aren't we humans known for using tools? Well, here is one tool we have let run on automatic for so long, we don't recognize it as a tool. Time to get back in the driver's seat, don't you agree?

Let's revisit that Santa belief -- you use that belief as a tool. The reality behind that belief is created when you put energy into the belief - thought, emotion and intent and voila - it's Christmas and Santa reality for those kids. And by Jove that reality really does influence you too -- you get into it, you feel the Christmas spirit -- because you chose it. You are creatively using that belief as a tool! You practice this every year in what ever tradition you follow.

I think the true acceptance of beliefs, as Elias mentions, is the recognition that we are, or can be, in the position of power over our own reality. That we can use beliefs as tools, that the beliefs do not necessarily have to blindly or automatically influence us, unless we so consciously choose. To me, if beliefs can be considered in this way, that the beliefs are not us, the same way that we can consider thoughts and emotions -- then we can recognize and acknowledge these as processes and we have the choice to allow them to influence us as we wish.

Beliefs are our reality creation tools and our thoughts, emotions and intents are the power behind these tools.

Pick your tool. Are we not here to learn how to use the tools with which we create?

Seth - "An Integral Conscious Creation Myth" Part 5 of 15 by Paul Helfrich

Seth on “In the Beginning”

Dreams, “Evolution,” and Value Fulfillment, Vol. 1Dreams, “Evolution,” and Value Fulfillment, Vol. 1, session 884, October 03, 1979.

“Once again, in terms of your equations, energy and consciousness and matter are one. And in those terms (the qualifications are necessary) consciousness is the agent that directs the transformation of energy into form and of form into energy. All possible visible or invisible particles that you discover or imagine – meaning hypothesized particles – possess consciousness. They are energized consciousness.

“There are certain characteristics inherent in energy itself, quite aside from any that you ascribe to it, since of course to date you do not consider energy conscious.

“Energy is above all things infinitely creative, innovative, original. Energy is imaginative. (Any scientists who might be reading this book may as well stop here.) I am not assigning human traits to energy. Instead, your human traits are the result of energy’s characteristics – a rather important difference. Space as you think of it is, in your terms, filled with invisible particles. They are the unstated portion of physical reality, the unmanifest medium in which your world exists. In that regard, however, atoms and molecules are stated, though you cannot see them with your [unaided] eye. The smaller particles that make them up become ‘smaller and smaller,’ finally disappearing from the examination of any kind of instrument, and these help bridge the gap between unmanifest and manifest reality.

“For the terms of this discussion of the beginning of [your] world, I will deal with known qualities for now – the atoms and molecules. In the beginning they imagined the myriad of forms that were physically possible. They imagined the numberless cells that could arise from their own cooperative creation. Energy is boundless. It is exuberant. It knows no limits. In those terms, the atoms dreamed the cells into physical being – and from that new threshold of physical activity cellular consciousness dreamed of the myriad organizations that could emerge from this indescribable venture.

“Again, in actuality all of this took place at once, yet the depth of psychological experience contained therein can never be measured, for it involved a kind of value fulfillment with which each consciousness is involved. That characteristic of value fulfillment is perhaps the most important element in the being of All-That-Is, and it is a part of the heritage of all species.

“Value fulfillment itself is most difficult to describe, for it combines the nature of a loving presence – a presence with the innate knowledge of its own divine complexity – with a creative ability of infinite proportions that seeks to bring to fulfillment even the slightest, most distant portion of its own inverted complexity. Translated into simpler terms, each portion of energy is endowed with an inbuilt reach of creativity that seeks to fulfill its own potential in all possible variations – and in such a way that such a development also furthers the creative potentials of each other portion of reality.

In those terms, then, there was in the beginning an almost unimaginable time in which energized consciousness, using its own creative abilities, its own imagination, experienced with triumphant rambunctiousness, trying out one form after another. In the terms you are used to thinking of, nothing was stable. Consciousness as you think of it turned into matter, and then into pure energy and back again.

“Subjectivity still largely ruled. Like an adolescent leaving home for the first time, individualized consciousness was also somewhat homesick, and returned often to the family homestead – but gradually gained confidence and left finally to form a [universe].

“Now because All-That-Is contains within itself such omnipotent, fertile, divine creative characteristics, all portions of its subjective experience attained dimensions of actuality impossible to describe. The thoughts, for example, of All-That-Is were not simply thoughts as you might have, but multidimensional mental events of superlative nature. Those events soon found that a transformation must occur, if they were to journey into objectivity – for no objectivity of itself could contain the entire reality of subjective events that existed within divine subjectivity. Only in that context could their relative perfection be maintained. Yet they had yearned before the beginning for other experiences, and even for fulfillments of a different nature. They sensed a kind of value fulfillment that required of them the utilization of their own creative abilities. They yearned to create as they had been created, and All-That-Is, in a kind of divine perplexity, nevertheless realized that this had always been its own intent.

“All-That-Is realized that such a separation would also allow you to bring about a different kind of divine art, in which the creators themselves created, and their creations created, bringing into actuality existences that were possible precisely because there would seem to be a difference between the creator and the creations. All-That-Is is, therefore, within each smallest portion of consciousness.

“Yet each smallest portion of consciousness can uniquely create, bring into being, eccentric versions of All-That-Is, that in certain terms All-That-Is, without that separation, could not otherwise create. The loving support, the loving encouragement of the slightest probable consciousness and manifestation – that is the intent of All-That-Is.

“All-That-Is knows that even this purpose is a portion of a larger purpose. In terms of time, the realization of that purpose will emerge with another momentous explosion of subjective inspiration into objectivity, or into another form. In deeper terms, however, that purpose is also known now, and to one extent or another the entire universe dreams of it, as once cellular consciousness dreamed of the organs that it might ‘form.’

“I want to stress that I am speaking here not so much about a kind of spiritual evolution as I am about an expansion. We will for now, however, confine ourselves to a discussion of consciousness in the beginning of the world, stressing that the first basis of physical life was largely subjective, and that the state of dreaming not only helped shape the consciousness of your species, but also in those terms served to provide a steady source of information to man about his physical environment, and served as an inner web of communication among all species.”

Session 886, December 03, 1979.

“Now: In the beginning, there was not God the Father, Allah, Zoroaster, Zeus, or Buddha.

“In the beginning there was instead, once more, a divine psychological gestalt – and by that I mean a being whose reality escapes the definition of the word ‘being,’ since it is the source from which all being emerges. That being exists in a psychological dimension, a spacious present, in which everything that was or is or will be (in your terms) is kept in immediate attention, poised in a divine context that is characterized by such a brilliant concentration that the grandest and the lowliest, the largest and the smallest, are equally held in a multiloving constant focus.

“Your conceptions of beginnings and endings make an explanation of such a situation most difficult, for in your terms the beginning of the [universe] is meaningless – that is, in those terms (underlined) there was no beginning.

“The [universe] is, as I explained, always coming into existence, and each present moment bring[s] its own built-in past along with it. You agree on accepting as fact only a small portion of the large available data that compose any moment individually or globally. You accept only those data that fit in with your ideas of motion in time. As a result, for example, your archeological evidence usually presents a picture quite in keeping with your ideas of history, geological eras, and so forth.

“The conscious mind sees with a spectacular but limited scope. It lacks all peripheral vision. I use the term ‘conscious mind’ as you define it, for you allow it to accept as evidence only those physical data available for the five senses – while the five senses, of course, represent only a relatively flat view of reality, that deals with the most apparent surface.

“The physical senses are the extensions of the inner senses that are, in one way or another, a part of each physical species regardless of its degree. The inner senses provide all species with an inner method of communication. The cells then, possess inner senses.

“Atoms perceive their own positions, their velocities, motions, the nature of their surroundings, the material that they compose. [Your] world did not just come together, mindless atoms forming here and there, elements coalescing from brainless gases – nor was the world, again, created by some distant objectified God who created it part by part as in some cosmic assembly line. With defects built in, mind you, and better models coming every geological season.

“The universe is formed out of what God is.

“The universe is the natural extension of divine creativity and intent, lovingly formed from the inside out – so there was consciousness before there was matter, and not the other way around.

“In certain basic and vital ways, your own consciousness is a portion of that divine gestalt. In the terms of your earthly experience, it is a metaphysical, a scientific, and a creative error to separate matter from consciousness, for consciousness materializes itself as matter in physical life.”

Summary of Concepts:

– This is the book where Seth finally bludgeons to death the phrase “in your terms.” But seriously, as Aldous Huxley helped explain in the previous segment, Seth is severely constrained by English’s propensity to cast concepts into linear objects and processes. I never cease to be amazed at the tenacity and consistency in which Seth explains concepts based in spacelessness and timelessness to an audience ensconced in space and time.

Seth opens with a reminder that “in the beginning” of our physical universe E+M=C (energy and matter = Consciousness).

– Physical energy and matter as Consciousness are infinitely creative, innovative, original, and imaginative though our modern sciences do not operate under that assumption. However, Seth does not assign human traits to energy and matter, but instead human traits are made possible by their fundamental characteristics.

– In the beginning, then, physical atoms and molecules dreamt of more complex structures – cells – and explored myriad probabilities in which to best create them. Thus, matter preceded the emergence of simple cellular life, which in turn dreamt of ways to create even more complex biological forms. (Seth skips any mention of the formation of galaxies, solar systems and planets at this point. But key hierarchical relationships exist between the development of energy-matter as atoms, into molecules, and eventually cells that we’ll explore later.)

– In the beginning, value fulfillment guided the experimentation of atoms and molecules. Value fulfillment is an innate quality of Consciousness “that seeks to fulfill its own potential in all possible variations – and in such a way that such a development also furthers the creative potentials of each other portion of reality.”

– In the beginning, Consciousness as atoms and molecules still dreamt about all of the myriad forms they could manifest. But the inner world, the “dreamtime,” was still more familiar. So physical energy and matter were very unstable.

– There is an innate intention and purpose to our young physical universe. However, only so much can be actualized in physical terms in any given time. So there is always a balancing act that nurtures the development of all species as things develop in a cooperative fashion. There will be “another momentous explosion of subjective inspiration into objectivity, or into another form.”

Knowledge of this innate intention and purpose within All-That-Is exists on some level now, since everything exists simultaneously within a “spacious present.” Our entire universe still dreams of it. And Seth hints not so much at some kind of spiritual evolution as some kind of “expansion.” (This may be a reference to the present emergence of postmodern worldviews on a global scale.)

– Again, there is no real beginning in terms of linear time, but a spacious present in which Consciousness experiences nested orders of perception (fields of consciousness) that support and nurture the emergence of our physical universe (Framework 1).

– Our physical senses provide a flat view of reality limited to physical surfaces. However, they are extensions of our inner senses. Thus, every form of energy and matter uses inner senses that work “outside” of space and time (nonlocal). The inner senses are part of a vast inner communication between all species. Our cells also use inner senses.

– Seth closes with a reprise of his opening thoughts that physical energy and matter are Conscious. (This is a good example of what we discussed in the Foreword about Consciousness desperately trying make a comeback in postmodern worldviews and myths.)

Comments:

– In summary, Causal Consciousness exists “before the beginning” of our physical universe. In the beginning, then, the Big Bang was “caused” by the dreaming nature of All-That-Is.

– Seth mentioned that “... In the beginning, there was not God the Father, Allah, Zoroaster, Zeus, or Buddha.” Notice that he invokes recent premodern religious icons that still dominate today. They extend back approximately 3,000 years and superceded earlier Great Mother and Great Goddess figures that reach back tens of thousands of years to the dawn times of humanity.

Various scholars (Campbell, Whyte, Eisler, Wilber, Pagels, etc.) point out how the Judeo-Christian-Islamic father gods managed to repress the feminine Great Goddess principle to such and extent so as to dissociate it. The result was a pathological imbalance in the monotheistic religions that have led to more human suffering in the name of God the Father than anything that preceded it. The expansion that Seth refers to may include the integration of the Great Goddess principle into emerging postmodern myths.

Again, in the Foreword I mentioned that Consciousness is desperately trying to make a comeback in postmodern myths and worldviews. We can now add that the feminine principle, as an element that has been dissociated on a mass scale over the past 3,000 years, is also desperately involved in this postmodern comeback. The feminine principle is further reflected in the use of emotions, intuitions, and first person perspectives – additional qualities repressed in premodern and particularly modern worldviews. Again, we’re exploring a balance and inclusion of both masculine and feminine qualities.

– Finally, over 800 sessions preceded this ambitious attempt at a creation myth. As such, the laws of the inner universe, of which value fulfillment was the first presented, were first published in The Early Sessions: Book Two of the Seth Material (1997). I suspect he chose to focus on value fulfillment for simplicity’s sake and ease of story-telling. Still, we can apply all these innate qualities of All-That-Is to this conscious creation myth. For example, Seth uses consciousness throughout, and hinted at cooperation and energy transformation in this excerpt. He briefly mentions spontaneity later.

  • Value Fulfillment
  • Energy Transformation
  • Spontaneity
  • Durability
  • Creation
  • Consciousness
  • Capacity For Infinite Mobility
  • Changeability & Transmutation
  • Cooperation
  • Quality Depth

Marion the Magnet is chosen to travel to the planet Earth with his wise grandfather to teach the children about their own magnetic powers…the magnetic power of thought!

In the book Marion helps a young girl, Katie, understand the importance of thinking and daydreaming about what she wants to attract with her magnetic powers of thought. When the other children are using their magnetic powers to attract fun things such as skateboards and new video games Katie is trying to use her magnetic powers to help her family through a challenging situation. Her father has been out of work for sometime and they are close to the point of becoming homeless.

WHAT A COINCIDENCE Understanding Synchronicity In Everyday Life
by Susan M Watkins

Overview:

What if all those seemingly insignificant little What a coincidence! moments you've experienced were actually connected, were part of a larger, more complex coincidence story?

What if they were hinting at something very personal and important about yourself—and about the workings of human consciousness?

Would you listen?

Susan Watkins does. For more than 35 years she's been documenting and studying the coincidences that have happened in her life. What she's discovered is that seemingly simple coincidences—thinking of an old friend and their calling seconds later, for example—are often pieces of larger, more complex and meaningful "coincidence clusters."

A former newspaper reporter and the author of five books, Watkins has always been intrigued by coincidences—what they mean in our everyday lives, and in the grander scheme of things. What, she asks, do these coincidence clusters say about human consciousness and human connection? In What a Coincidence! she presents coincidence clusters that are utterly astounding. What they reveal is life- altering.

What a Coincidence! is an exciting, groundbreaking journey. Along the way Watkins offers profound insights as well as practical pointers on how to become aware of the coincidence clusters in our own lives. She also shows us how to document coincidences so that we, too, can reap their valuable rewards. We'll never brush off those What a Coincidence! moments again.

SETH CONNECTIONS

Meetings of both the physical and non-physical kind

If you have a Seth group or are planning a get together for Seth fans, and would like to see it advertised here, email us at sethnet-owner@yahoogroups.com

Greetings from the Portland-Metro Seth Readers' Guild

We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month. Our first meeting of the month is for reading aloud and commenting. Right now, we are reading "The Early Sessions, Book 4" in the first half of the meeting, then we take a break for drinks and treats and conversation. During the second half of the meeting we have started reading "Seth Speaks". We end the meeting variously with a psy-time, or reading from the Seth deck of cards. Of course the reading goes slowly, because we always have a reason to stop the flow for comments--current events, family or personal tie-ins, etc. This is how we use the material, and it seems to work.

Our second meeting of the month is what we call the experiential

meeting, which can range from a past-life hypnosis psy-time, to a video of interest on a current topic, or a time of general discussion. We did some remote-viewing experiments with pretty good results.

Our meetings start at 7 PM and go to 10 PM. The host provides tea, coffee or other drinks, and we bring finger food. There is networking, friendship, and stimulating talk on all kinds of subjects during the break. We aim to keep our focus on our primary reality, and learn from each other how to deal constructively with the secondary reality of our greater world.

Drop-ins are welcome--call Marie 503-232-6469 or email harakne@yahoo.com for our meeting locations or any cancellations."

Bay Area Seth Group 2005-06 Season!

After a lovely but too-short summer we are ready to ramp up again for even more lively gatherings of the Bay Area Seth Group. We meet the 2nd Saturday of each month from 3-6pm in the Excelsior District of San Francisco (we take off December and June-August). The next gathering is Saturday, September 10th. You can read a general overview at: http://www.consciousnessarts.com/seth_group.html

This year we are going to be even more experiential and will be using the Practice Elements from The Unknown Reality as a jumping off point. We also plan to do some explorations into group dreams. Of course, we are SPONTANEOUS beings and often don't follow our plans at all, so anything can happen!

If you are interested in attending or getting notices of upcoming meetings, please send me your email address and I'll put you on our Evite list.

Blissful Blessings, Kerstin
