Creating A Greener Reality
by John J. McNally
"You create your own reality" we've all heard it before and interpreting exactly what it means is the single biggest point of contention in any Seth discussion group or forum. Seth has made it abundantly clear that each of us creates the entirety of our experience, and that we are never victims to events, however he has also encouraged us to be Practicing Idealists, and make a positive effect in the world we create both individually and en masse.
Personally, I've always accepted the idea that we navigate through a web of infinite probabilities, choosing the mass world I experience via my beliefs and actions in the physical world. It's a little intimidating to think that EVERY choice I make has an impact in the world I create and it seems like there's too much there for me to possibly keep track of consciously. It's far easier just to trust that "everything is perfect" and go on with my life as usual, unless of course your inner self keeps bringing these issues up so that you pay attention to them.
Which is exactly what has happened with me over the years. Through a variety of experiences, both good and bad I became a lot more conscious of the foods I was eating, the products I was buying and their effects on my life. I also became aware, mainly via news and internet, of many of the social issues around the creation of the products I was buying every day, and conditions for both people and products that I didn't want to contribute to financially or otherwise.
As a conscious creator then, I find myself faced with the challenge of "How do I create the reality that I want?" Theorists will argue that it's all just a matter of choice, and in essence that is true, however the ability to make that choice lies not only in the mind, but must be reflected in the actions you take in the world every single day.
For example, if you love wearing designer clothes, but consciously know that the clothes are being produced in sweatshops under abominable conditions, then what sort of vibration are you putting out into the world or what sort of reality are you drawing to yourself by continuing to buy these products? It's sheer egotism to say "I'll just assume they were made with love" while article after article about the horrible conditions of sweatshops still come your way. Your patronage of the clothes adds energy in both the form of profits and the vibration of "I support this situation." into the universe.
I've always supported the basic ideas of environmentalism and conservation, even if I don't always agree with the doom and gloom of many environmental groups. Cleaner technologies, recycling and reducing waste are all ideas that I feel stand on their own merits; I don't see this as a belief in "limited resources" but one in which resources are used wisely rather than being wasted.
My introduction into living a "greener" life came when I first bought organically grown produce in the store. There was a noticeable taste difference, even if the color or look of the fruits and veggies weren't so corporately perfect as their mass marketed counterparts. Psychically, I felt that there was a difference as well, the food felt more energized, even perhaps more filling than the mass market counterparts.
When I worked as a cook, I became more aware of many of the preparations food went through before it went from the farm to the kitchen. Vegetables are often picked green, sprayed, waxed and put through other chemical processes in order to extend their shelf life. You might say it's just a matter of belief that makes the "organic" vegetables and fruits taste better, but I challenge you to put that belief to the test. Get a store bought tomato and compare the taste and feel to one that has been grown organically and picked ripe instead of picked green and artificially ripened by the use of an ethylene spray. If you can't tell the difference in the taste, texture and color, than you are truly living in a reality far removed from the one I'm in right now.
I have also become more aware of many of the artificial additives to processed foods, perhaps the most common being Monosodium Glutamate. For years I had been having an allergic reaction to this chemical (as many people do) but had no clue as to what was causing my symptoms. It was only through the internet and a few unfortunate eating experiences that I was able to put 2 and 2 together.
The rise of the internet has also brought many social issues to my attention as well, such as the use of child slave labor in the cocoa and coffee trades, and as mentioned earlier the sweatshop conditions in which most clothing is mass produced worldwide. Once again I felt overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information, and my desire not to contribute to the creation of such a reality was weighed against my ego's complaints of no money or time to invest in alternatives.
I started with baby steps, buying organic products when I could or free range chicken and beef. My allergy to MSG had eliminated about 80% of the processed foods on the supermarket shelves. Since I wasn't wealthy, I had to measure my purchases against a limited budget and do my best within that framework. Gradually those baby steps have been building, and I realized several weeks ago that I was ready to make a much more conscious commitment to this new path I've been enjoying.
I discussed the concept with my partner Kristen, and both of us liked the idea of taking bigger steps towards living a greener lifestyle. In some areas we've done very well, like switching to rechargeable batteries several years ago. In others, we have a lot of room for improvement, like the insane collection of plastic grocery bags that overflows the shelf every few months. We decided to record our experiences and create a living record of our progress on a new website called It Should Be Easy Being Green (but it's not), which emphasizes the challenge of finding positive alternatives that are available and/or affordable on a modest income.
For example, I need new shoes for work, but rather than just buy mass marketed shoes made in sweatshop conditions, I'm looking into "fair trade" products instead. The major problem is that the price of Fair Trade shoes is about three times that of their mass marketed counterparts, and very few of the styles meet my requirements for work. At this point, I am stepping back and sending my intent out to the universe for the right pair of shoes to manifest, even if they're not Free Market this time around. This is an ongoing process and I trust that as time goes on, better options will become available to me.
One benefit of our new efforts was stumbling across an eco friendly restaurant called Passionfish. We had been looking for a place to eat, determined to find an independently owned place rather than a chain restaurant. What we discovered was a place with delicious gourmet food that stated right on their menu that they only used sustainable seafood sources and even provided a little information card on current seafood issues along with the bill.
As much as I feel these choices are right for me, I also realize that no two paths are the same and the decisions I am making for myself do not necessarily apply to the experience of another. There are certainly some who would find fault with many of my dietary choices, to which I reply: "This is what is right for me, right now." And that is what I would encourage anyone to be able to say to themselves when exploring their own choices. Pay attention to all the relevant information, but listen to yourself first and let your own inner being guide the way.
Incarnations
by Anna Vayaki
Life is
a simple
haunting melody
plucked
on God's
monochord.
And then come the chords,
and the dissonances.
In some songs
in some poems
in some paintings
and sculptures,
in sunsets
rainbows and storms,
at breathtaking
loving moments,
the echoes
resound on the soul,
and hold us
transfixed
in timeless wonder.
As the light
calls the moths,
as honey
the bees,
the yearning
for that single minded
magic tone
calls forth lives
again, and again
and again.
A Beer For Seth
by Donald R. Johnson
At first glance, they are only words read
Provocative invitations to the mind
But they opened doorways in my head
Revealing forgotten Parts for my Self to find
The Material is alive inside of me now
Activating the Truth that was there all along
In stages, when I was ready to allow.
Given a chance, the truth makes one strong
I am set free – what can ever hurt me?
Death is merely an experience
Nothing to fear, I finally see
Though it may be a bit intense
(I've done it before, and 'survived'!)
I salute you, Seth, for your sharing
Life is now sweeter, not a chore
Thanks to your effort and caring
I can easily see, in life, beauty galore
With no fear of death
One can relax just a bit
To take a deep breath
Just for the pure joy of it
Metaphysical matters intrigue
Working the puzzle can be fun
But it can also fatigue
So, in the inner world, I go for a run
(My dim inner world was lit by a golden sun when 'Seth Spoke')
Someday, if we think to create the time
I'd like to buy you a non-physical beer
It'd cost a mere non-physical dime
Then I'd share a story you might like to hear
(I'll create that dime right now and hang on to it)
Best wishes

Buzz Around Upcoming “Lotus Mind” Workshop
John Hawkins-TORONTO-MAR0307 | KRIS, THAT CHARMING ENTITY channeled here in Toronto by Serge J. Grandbois, has been making some startling claims about his workshop entitled *‘The Lotus Mind’, coming up in June. Apparently, in this workshop, we are being offered the opportunity to get off our fences - and our couches - and become active participants in ‘The Shift’. To quote Kris…
“It is not by reading and intellectualizing, but by participating in the transformation of your own life, that the process begins…”
The Secret Behind ‘The Secret’
My name is John Hawkins and I attend, as your faithful reporter, almost every Kris presentation – public anyway – and post my recaps on *New World View. This gives me a ring-side seat on this phenomena and Kris has taken us on some amazing journeys over the last couple of years. Of course we should take all of this stuff with a grain of salt, but we also give credit where credit is due.
Certainly the world is changing before our very eyes. You may have seen ‘The Secret’ or watched recent Oprah or Larry King shows about ‘The Law of Attraction’. Many may not know that the origin of this ‘secret’ is channeled material from a number of different sources, including Abraham-Hicks.
Kris is a channeled ‘energy personality essence’ in the same line as Seth, Abe, Elias and etc. While many of these channeled sources present similar material, there is wide variety in their tone. Kris’ outspoken but compassionate tone has been compared to Seth, another outspoken but very compassionate and down-to-earth essence channeled by Jane Roberts.
Kris has suggested that the real secret is our imagination, not so much this ‘law’ of attraction they talk about, but more an innate property of all of consciousness, even All That Is. Allowing our playful imagination will manifest wonders on our behalf, as Kris tells us…
“…as soon as you make the proper allowances, then all events, circumstances and situations are to your advantage, as far as your personal construction of reality is concerned.”
The Lotus Mind Workshop
Kris has told us that ‘The Lotus Mind’ workshop is not for the ‘faint of heart’. The focal point will be the lotus plant, with its roots in the muddy water feeding the lovely blossom floating on the surface. By contemplating the lotus we gain a new understanding of our whole selves and immediately start harvesting the benefits of honoring the ‘muddy roots’ of physical life.
The analogy of the lotus is usually used to show us how to transcend our base, material origins, and achieve a beautiful new life far removed from our humble beginnings. Kris is adamant that we need to embrace our physicality and ‘get our hands dirty’ to appreciate our whole self as expressed here in physical life. We get nowhere by trying to deny our physicality – this is an increasingly frantic game that usually ends badly.
Being at a Kris Workshop
I have been to a couple of workshops with Kris and can tell you what to expect. Bring a blanket, exercise mat, or ‘throw’ of some kind, because you may spend some time on the floor for various activities.
Usually Kris speaks, or officiates, during most of the workshop so you will be getting Kris ‘online’ for up to four hours a day for the two days. This means there is usually lots of time for questions and interaction.
Kris will often lead us in group activities; perhaps something as elaborate as a Sacred Ceremony involving water, leaves, seeds, and grains of rice, or perhaps something as simple as a group hug. Whatever the activity, Kris is an active participant, front and centre.
What Kris is Offering – ‘In his own words’
“So it is our humble attempt with this workshop to bring about an entirely different, integrated approach to understanding material nature and the physical world from a different point of view. One that neither negates nor annihilates anything but takes into consideration the very psychology of consciousness! So this is not for the faint of heart. It is not a workshop for the intellectually lazy, but a workshop for those who wish to be on the forefront and the leading edge of revolutionary consciousness perceptions.
“Many people, including some amongst yourselves read about the Shift, think about it, ponder it. Well this is the time, then, to stop it! Stop thinking, stop sitting and pondering and start doing! It is not by reading and intellectualizing, but by participating in the transformation of your own life, that the process begins at ground zero.” —Kris: Lotus Mind, Feb 4 07
