Now that the primaries are in full swing, I thought I'd bump this thread up.
Anybody want to tune into their Magic 8 Ball and make a prediction?
I'm not getting a clear feel for who the next President will be, but I feel like it's between Obama and Clinton rather than any Republicans.
I feel like this election will be pivotal in the ...

John McNally:
But now ask yourself, suppose your friend had other ideas of what was
'ideal', and was using the same methods as you to achieve the opposite
effect. Say he wants more power to the Republicans! How does that work
out? Who wins, and why? Or is there another answer?
More than likely our probabilities will diverge, and the ...

Hi Will,
I agree completely. I think that the thoughts and beliefs you're holding right now, and over the next year or so will determine the probable election results you experience. As much as I agree that ''the point of power is in the present'' I've come to understand that beliefs have momentum, and the longer you hold them (good or bad) the ...

I think I am paraphrasing Seth when I say, You cannot make yourself
happy by going 'out there' and fixing the things you think are wrong.
You fix the things you perceive as wrong by first being happy. When
your life is full of joy, you radiate joy, and offer it to others. Fix
your own life, and it won't matter who thinks he is 'in power' ...

John Skingley:These things are basic to TSM, as I see it. Translating them into election terms, they mean -My physical experience does not depend on who is in power, at any level of government.Nothing those 'in power' do or don't do can have any affect on my life, unless I allow them to by giving my thoughts and beliefs to them, which I can ...

Sean Foreman:I'd vote for Gore if he ran again... He won the first time...
http://www.algore.org/
Hi Sean,
Do you think Al will run again? He really seems to enjoy the power he has being outside of the rat race. If he had been this lively and off the cuff in his campaign, I think he'd of won by a landslide, but unfortunately he came ...

DonReally:Hi Don,
So I must reply to my own post
I meant to change the slightly negative tone of my previous post by posting positive information about 3rd party candidates but it seems that it is too early in the game right now as most have not declared their intention to run, let alone give information about their platforms. I ...

Hi Don C,
Welcome to Sethnet!
I think our electoral system does need an overhaul, although it seems like the absolute worst (Diebold) people have been put in charge of improving it.
I think if we could get rid of the electoral college, that would be a big step towards giving other parties some elbow room. Hilary Clinton once said she was in ...

DonReally:Hi John,
It's a shame (almost typed sham) that we have to choose between the two usual parties. While I don't see any third party as having a chance, that doesn't mean we shouldn't vote third party. First of all, if you don't like either of the two major parties, then vote your conscience. It seems that people don't ...
